Default Want to design side pipes

Hello all

Been driving the vette for like 5weeks now and I am already thinking of doing
Something to it …side pipes can i? What’s the law on this? Do I have to worry about being pulled over for them?
And I will be designing them myself. What I had in mind was square tubing about 2’’ thick
Running under the rocker were regular side pipes would be with a square exit all black
I will be installing some sort of muffler don’t want it to loud.
Thoughts ???? ideas????

Thanks
Todd

thanks for that Mo
what i had in mind would be the side pipe would come from just behind the front wheel like a regular side pipe but use square small tubing and the then to the larger tubing down to just before the rear tire but a square tube .
i will make this myself no big deal as for the muffler i will install a series of baffles inserted in the larger pipe to muffle it down a bit

Why sidepipes? Looks or Sound?

If it's sound you're after, you might want to try chambered pipes. I love the sound. Nice deep rumble at idle, able to hold a conversation at cruise, put your foot into it and all hell breaks loose

Have you ever been in a car with pipes? They cook the meat instantly when you touch your legs on them while wearing shorts in summer

Search "sidepipes" in C3 Gen and you'll find dozens of threads. I researched this heavily for my 73 and was about to pull the trigger on Hookers but ended up with my Z.

As for leg burns, meh....side pipe tat's, wear it proudly, plus you'll only get one once but you'll get that great sound/look every single day
