Default Progress pics 427ci small block

Finally got the heads back from the machine shop and one final mock up before putting the heads on to get my pushrod length correct with the T&D shaft rockers. Hopefully will have it running in a couple of weeks

Couple of pics of the assembled heads, AFR 227 Eliminators, the heads flow what AFR says they do. I especially like the mid lift numbers where they flow 300cfm @ .500" lift :

Not much room between the valves, the intake valve is 2.100", they almost appear to be touching

Here is the Vic Jr. intake, it was port matched to the heads by AFR and it was flowed with the heads and the combination flowed well over 300cfm

Very nice port matching job done by AFR

So can we assume you are never going back to your original L48?

Looks great Wayne. Let us know when you will be dyno'ing the beast

Yeah sure we both put on slicks and the one who gets the furthest down the track after the rear end grenades wins

Stupid '80's!

I'm eyeing the Tom's 12 bolt stuffed into the iron case...with a few mods it will fit our Vettes no problem. Of course I have no mechanical skills and even less patience when things don't work out perfectly, so this is the PERFECT choice for me.

It's not just the '80 rear end. Actually it is quite good. Even the iron case rears in earlier C3's can blow easily and I have seen more than one C5 blow a rear at the drag strip with stock motor so ours are pretty damn good. Mine has taken 500ft/lbs thru it many times. The Toms unit with the 12 bolt would be the ticket though
