As some of you may be aware....I've been converted, I love my 08 Coupe. My 04 GT convertible still sits in the garage waiting to be purchased. The fact that it's been for sale for 2 months might say something about the Blue Oval.

Here's the catch. My boss at work is in the process of being converted as well. He's on his 5th Mustang and I've shown him the light. He now looking for a C5 Z06. Any thoughts on were to look and what to look for. He has no issues with importing for the US if that is the best way to go.

Thanks for helping out this future CF member

Hey Jeff. The forum is a good place to start looking for a Z06.

In fact, you'll find a couple on sale here.

But don't limit yourself to just the CDN side. Have a look in the US for sale forums. Very easy to import cars nowadays and there is alot of experience here for that.

Next would be to check your local dealers and autotraders. But be warned, dealers tend to charge a bit more than private, but sometimes, you'll find gems sitting on lots that just can't be passed up.

Then lastly, check out ebay, craigslist and kijiji. Buyer beware on these sites. Couple words of advice on the last 3.
1. Never pay with cash. You want some form of money trail in case the deal turns south.
2. Never go alone. Always have a friend or relative go with you when meeting interested parties.

I'm sure others will chime in with other suggestions, especially with anything specific to watch out for on a Z06.

Good luck on the search.

Stan.

Good advice above...typically better deals and certainly better selection in the US...
some sites...
http://www.corvettetrader.com/corvettes1997.htm sales

http://www.idavette.net/facts/2002/index.htm facts

PM me for any details but lots of cars on the Cars for sale section on the forums, not just this one..lots of people like my friend, did the US deal ,very recently so information is readily available for the importing route...
Like to think we could be of any help...LOTSA vettes for sale at Carlisle........see Sticky section.

List what you want in the for sale section, see wht that brings, IF you really do know what you want....

Regards Ian

Just crush the mustang. It's worth more as scrap metal.

autotrader.com

You'll need a US ZIP code to define the search area. I found one for a friend of mine using a NY state zip (13601) and specified a 500-mile search radius.

I think the 07 would be out his price range. It would be in the 25-30 K range.
