Default Trans Oil Coolers

Do many use them on their C5's? If so, what do you use --- I noticed my A4 works like c$%p when it gets really hot out in stop and go traffic....since it was just rebuilt under warranty, maybe a cooler would help it last a little longer...

I use a tranny cooler. Have been for years. They are especially helpful if you drag race the car (which I do). I previously used a basic B&M unit, but last year switched to a B&M unit with a built-in fan. Worked like a charm!

Some guys mount them where the front brake cooling ducts are. Obviously, the ducts have to be removed. Others mount them by the differential at the back of the car. That won't work if your car is a 97 or early 98 when the ABS module was mounted by the diff. I just had it mounted at the front where the car breathes in front of the rad.

If you do a search on cooling in the FI section, you should be able to find some posts on the topic, including pics.

Try wrapping the exhaust pipes where they are close to transaxle.
