Getting bored this winter - only had the vette out for 1 short ride in the last 2 months..... thought maybe I'd take on a little project like painting my brake calipers.....my butt's getting sore from sitting around in the evenings watching Family Guy re-runs... I've seen in some threads that some guys use spray paint, some use brush... I'll probably use the brush on paint.... what's a good brand to use and where's a good place to get it? Also, I can't seem to decide whether to paint just the calipers or the metal part of the brake pads too ... there's pics on the forum of both.....
Hey - thanx fer all the help and input! I'm off to Wally World for some Dupli Colour then to the liquor store for some Grey Goose..... my weekend project......hmmmmmmm... I wonder what the ratio is of vodka to paint to make this look good.......
If I had to do it over again I would have taken the calipers completely off,and re-installed with the stainless braided lines, flushing and re-filling the brake system, hindsight, lol.Plus I had just installed the thicker tunnel plate, would have been nice to have done it all at the same time.Oh well who says 50 yr olds don't get excited, lol.
OH tell more! So enough "red". What about the other colors? WHere did you buy and any special tips? (ie did you have to spray a bunch of black first over the liner logo etc)
Would like to do mine also, but trying to find a colour that goes with MagRed II. Does the high temp paint come in gold perhaps? Looking for opinions.Thanx
