Default 2008 CTS-V to get new LS9 from ZR-1

Hot from the press.

Unlike initially thought, the 2009 CTS-V will not be infused with the LS7, but the new LS9 from the ZR-1.

Article from Motor Trend

This 4-Door Caddy gonna lay many sportscars an azz whopin'!

Where do I sign up?

That article is actually a little old. Sources now all point to a LSA making 550ish HP.

I still hope for 600hp since Bob Lutz promised unexpectedly high HP for the CTS-V and that it'll suck the doors off the M5.

I'm still hopin they just transplant the same LS9 in the ZR-1 into the CTS-V.

And if it's a detuned version, all their going to likely do is to install a larger pulley for a lower boost level.
And we all know how quick and simple that would be to change.

Will they have the new CTS-V at the Toronto Auto Show this year?

I have heard that the pulley will be almost untouchable. You'd hafta take the whole blower out of the engine and apart to change it.

Not sure if it will be in Toronto. It will be at NAIAS though. I'm going there to see it

Ya, I'm going too. Got a deposit on a ZR-1, but if the CTS-V has the same driveline, I might just flip to a Caddy.

Humm, the only difference I see is they put the 1.9 TVS blower, where the ZR1 is getting the 2.3. Guess that's where the 70Hp loss is from.
