PS. I am being rhetorical. I understand that the police are understaffed to investigate break-ins into vehicles if no one is injured. Still, it does leave the owner frustrated.
I didn't click/read the link. But, I agree...our "Police
Force" is not /will not be of much help to most
of us when we need it. However, I don't know if they are to blame, or our courts (laws).
85 Trans Am - Plates Stolen
86 Accord - Head &, Amp Stolen, and all my Crappy Tire Money Stolen, car spray painted (separate incident)
92 Civic - Break in and key cylinder wrecked but they must have been interrupted before they could get it started.
Police attend crime scene=0
Now I don't blame the PoPo they are overwhelmed if we wanted them to visit every car break in we would need to increase the number of officers significantly.
I blame the POS's that we elect and the POS JP.s and Judges that give these POS's a pass with probation and community sevice insted of hard jail time. I'd be happy with 5 minutes alone in a locked room with the assh@le.

My daughters car was broken into this time last year, she noticed as she was heading to a friends. there was a cheap tool kit left beside the car that was used to punch a hole in the drivers door to get in. she called the police from her friends house and they did show up (Niagara Reg in Grimsby) they were more concerned that she was going to get into her car and drive after she had been drinking but filled a report and left.
Cause it's MUCH better than the military...just think of that when you get a bit uppity with a cop, then if you get the same yappy state with the military, in a military controlled state...me thinks you would have a good few words to say about the Polis.....OK I don't always appreciate these fellas and women especially when a disapointment is encountered but it's better than the disaster..... the alternatives don't bear consideration.
Don't know about you guys but if someone breaks in and the footprints lead over to the neighbors the only person that might need to call the cops won't be me...

In 2004 my girlfriends 1999 Honda Civic was stolen from Islington Station. It was found 2 weeks later, only because a Parking Enforcement officer had ticketed it several times of the course of a week and never ran the plates.
Upon recovery it was chewed up inside (see someone took a screw driver to the upholstery, the radio was stolen, left behind were some sweaters, pakistani music, detergent, photo ID AND a key that was labelled 'safe room' on a key chain with a jewelry stores number and address in Markham.
All this was given to the Cops, they failed to follow it up. Out of curiosity one day we happened to go to that very jewelry store. Low and behold the person on the photo ID worked in the jewelry store.
Gee I wonder who could've stolen it...No charges were ever laid.
