OK so I was at Costco tonight andf they had the Garmin Nuvi 650 unit on sale for $449.00 but starting thursday Nov 22-Sunday Nov 25 there is an additional $100 off!!!! So only $349.00!!! This is a great deal and I imagine will be sold out in a matter of a day or two. Roughly a month ago I waited and did not react fast enough on buying a unit and they were sold out in a matter of days at $479.00 so imagine how fast they will go at $349.00 on sale for 4 days only. Needless to say I bought a unit tonight and they said they will credit me my $100.00 the next day when I return with my bill. Just an FYI for those of us that are looking.
Radioworld has the Nuvi 660 for $529.00. They usually stock referb units as well, and they would be cheaper. I bought 2 Garmin 3600's as refurb and they were perfect.
There's new 7XX series Garmins out. They have some neat features.
I like Radioworld's, GPSCentral's and GPSCity's websites. Radioworld is cheapest by a bunch.
FWIW Costco is $570 for a new 660. Tiger Direct is $550.
We have a Nuvi 660 already. Best feature? Sirf III chipset locks on (finds the birds) so much faster.
Do the Garmin's let you pick a point on the map from the touchscreen to navigate to or do you have to tell it an intersection or GPS coordinates. TomTom's have that feature but one clueless guy at the Source told me no units have that.

You pretty much have to have a destination such as address, coordinates, hotel, restaurant, gas station, golf course, etc. Think of it like mapquest, you need a start and finish for driving directions.

My Garmin 3600 will do that. But I don't find it all that user friendly.
I don't know if the Nuvi line will do that for you. It really would be a great feature.

Peter, not sure as I have yet to read the instructions (typical guy LOL) I went back to Costco this AM however and they started with over 200 and they will probably be sold out by late tonight to tomorrow morning. They were 40% sold at lunch already! I called two frineds and they went and bought them also. I'll read up on all the features this weekend and le t you know what I find.
Location: Mississauga, Ontario I know all the answers it's the questions I don't understand
Just checked they are going for $320-350 US on ebay so that is good price up here in Canada. It is nice to see something isn't selling at a inflated price up here
I called Garmin and they told me that feature wasn't on any of their products so I'll probably stick to looking at the TomTom's. My daughter has the TomTom One which is the lower-end unit and it has that feature. I noticed as well that FutureShop has a sale on all TomTom's currently starting at $150 for the TomTom One. Hell of a deal for that unit.
Hey Peter. The Tomtom's have some different features but the Garmin maps are by far the best available IMO.
Mike I made my Costco visit.
Thanks
Do you mean in terms of completeness or detail cause I really haven't come across too many roads not showing up. Only issues I've experienced in borrowing my daughter's TomTom is the routing sometimes but I haven't played too much with the various options so it might be the way she has it setup.

Does anyone know if this model can up-load pre-programed routes from a computer.
For instance:- Lay out a few routes for a road trip then upload them to the Garmin.
