Default kinda [OT]... Xmas gifts

Hey all, I'm not sure if I'm alone in this, but each year when I get asked what would I like for Christmas? I end up staring blankly in the sky thinking, damn , what do I want?

The reason I said its "kinda" OT is because my first instinct is to think about things for my vette. But I dont want to limit the ideas to just that. Soooooooooo

Im reaching out and asking this this question. What is something you would like for Christmas from your S.O or a family member? Second question... What was a great gift from previous years that you received?

I think a couple things I would like but never see them anywhere is a retractable air compressor hose holder that hangs from the ceiling (Yes Mo, like yours) and a retractable extension cord that also hangs from the garage ceiling.

Let the ideas begin

From my S.O. - PS3, the drop in price to $399 has made it reasonable to buy at this point, factor in it's duty-free in the states and no-tax in certain nearby states and you can get it free and clear across the border for $399 USD/CAD. It doubles as an HD DVD player and because of this at 27 I can still justify asking for one without feeling ummmmm childish.

From the Government - Student Loan Forgiveness. Nuff Said. 2 years out they're still nagging me. Just write it off, I've paid them more in income taxes and capital gains taxes in those two years, than I actually owe. Let's just call it even.

I need another pair of dress shoes and a briefcase. Further dress shirts, ties and socks always come in handy.

Best Gift I have recieved for Christmas hmmmm I'll get back to you.

I already got my Christmas present early, it was the Ultimate Detailing Machine buffer that I got a few months ago. I figured I might as well get it while the weather was still warm, as I can't buff in the snow.

That is a great gift for someone with a black car, as you'll always find new scratches and swirls that this machine can help you remove!

Actually, thats a good idea Pat, for those of us that use PC's or buffers, replacement pads are good Stocking stuffer ideas.

Side note, I have a tradition that my wife started for me years and years ago. Every xmas the first gift I look for is my little bottle of Baileys.. I pretty much start drinking at 7am that day and by lunch the little bottle has done its job as a temporary container and then sits empty proudly. Its how I get through the day now with small kids

That's how you get through the day with big kids too! You just need bigger bottles of booze!

For my family, we treat christmas presents as frivolous...giving each other something that we would never spend the money on ourselves yet always wanted, or to do.

One present from the past comes to mind for me..private snowboarding lesson for a day. It was a really cool gift....pardon the pun..

There are so many options out there...exotic car rentals; sport/outdoor adventure days; lessons to improve or learn a hobby; spa days (men, woman & couples); romantic meal catered just because....and many more....just takes some imagination...

Steve, you and my sister have the same tradition - only hers is a really, really big bottle of baileys....

My must have tradition is a box of Turtles....and i don't share...

Lauri

PS..My christmas present to me is a week at Club Med, Turks & Caicos in February....

So that's how you get used to the pointing and the laughing. All these years I've been doing it wrong.

I bet that bottle of Bailey's also makes you 'happy' to see all your relatives too!

I got a magazine subscritpion (2 mags actually) which I thought was amazing. Every month when you receive it you always remember who bought it for you. But this year it'll be delayed X-Mas as I'm going to Cuba in early Jan which is my (our gifts) to one another. Extended Holidays..I love it.

My sis gets me gas cards & cash and I like those because it's something I use. Most of us here are older and so we can buy whatever we want pretty much whenever. When we're kids we look forward to opening that gift that may contain some special toy of the year and that's why I find more joy spoiling my nephew as the look on his face is priceless.
I love gifts but I'm one that really enjoys giving, I think I have what Elvis had if that's a disease or not, you just love to see others be happy because of you. So for xmas I want to freak out my nephew and buy him something crazy that he will never expect. His reaction is my gift. Of all the gifts, it had to be when he was 5 and I got him an electric ride-in Jeep. He pulled the Jeep out and he made a fort with the box. I'm like ride the fkn jeep! Too funny.
