Default Auto cross in Oakville ?

I see that OCC is having an event at the Bronte Go on August 12. Some one told that this is a weekly event? Is this true ? If so, does anyone know who runs this and do can you sign up.

You mean the CCO (Corvette CLub of Ontario)
http://www.ontariovettes.com/calendar.htm

There's usually some type of course setup at Bronte. The PITL (Push It To the Limit) is another. There is a SOLO2 event held on some sundays. These events usually start at 8am and go till about 3 or 4pm. The Slalom on Aug 12 is open to all Corvettes I believe. Just show up and pay the registration fee.

Its solo II, I believe run by the corvette compitiion club but is open to all cars and I think is every other week.. I went quite a few times when I first got my car.. Lots of fun as you race against time, one car at a time. You can just show up in the morning, pay there and sign the waiver.

You should get there early in the morning though, where you walk the track to read the line you will want to take, you will also take turns marshalling the course (basically picking up knocked over pylons). Depending on the amount of cars that show you will most likely get 3-6 runs . If you have a helmet bring it, otherwise they sometimes have an extra you can borrow.

If you havent done this, you gotta try it at least once. Oh ya, and leave your ego at the door.. there are some good drivers in VW's or miatas that will kick your butt If you take the 1st or second run smooth you can learn alot about how your car handles and then step it up a bit.. Solo II can be pretty violent on the car...lots of 1st gear 2nd gear pounding and heavy braking...

If you go...enjoy it, but like everything good, it can become addicting.

PITL used to be at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga. They moved as indicated above. You'll need a helmet (if you didn't know).

PITL=Push It To Limit.

I've seen some incredible improvements in driver skill and vehicle preparation...not me! They time me with a calendar.

Thanks guys, and yes this a Corvette Club of Ontario day. I will assume that they are sharing the track others.

I do have a helmet, and might just take a curise out there, sounds like fun.
