Hey folks,

I have received several of these @mails already from a spoof website. Be aware as I have already confirmed this with TD. As a rule of thumb, no financial institution whatsoever, sends out @mails that are general and vague. DO NOT REPLY

This wasn't really necessary ....

Anyone who doesn't already understand that this sort of an email is obviously phishing shouldn't be allowed on the internet (or even outdoors) without supervision.

As an IT person of many years, I have learned to "speak to" the lowest common denominator (non derogatory). While you may consider yourself "net-savvy", it never ceases to amaze me how many people answered the "I LOVE YOU" virus email. TD's lines were off the hook busy with people who had got fooled.

I'd love that list of people who were calling, I have some prime "commercial" swamp land in Florida to unload.
Also, if TD conducted a survey that day, they would find that 93% of those callers also bought land on the moon.

We got the same thing last week from the Royal Bank,Bank of Montreal & CitiBank. I forwarded them all to their respective security depts., as the Royal & BoM asked us to do so.

Yes, that also amazed me when it happened, back in the year 2000 -- eons ago in internet time.

The people on this forum seem to be relatively "net-savvy", so, just for future reference, I don't think we need to warn them about (i) answering emails from eBay or PayPal asking for their credit cards and bank account numbers, or (ii) sending cheques to guys who email them with a foolproof plan for getting money out of Nigeria.

All of which has nothing remotely to do with Corvettes ....

wait wait hold on, you mean I'm not currently speaking to the son of the Dept. of Finance of the republic of Congo. $54million seems legit to me, I don't think it's a scam!

You would be surprised how many Corvette owners hardly use a computer, but I guess you know everything. My mistake was to not put [OT] in front of the subject.
