Better rates from the GM DEalers for service and maintenance
I am pleased to report to the "Gang" that WN along with Eastside are trying to step up to the plate by offering "Labor-only" rates to allow us to bring our fluids for maintenance work. As soon as this is finalized and with moderator permission, I will post as this may contravene with other advertisers.
This can greatly reduce some of the costs associated with routine maintenance while documenting for warranty purposes particularly with retailers offering some great deals on oil, etc. We will just have to be mindful to use the recommended grades (as indicated in the manual - RTFM)

What exactly does that mean? They charge something like $75/hr to work on a car, and to change the engine oil is usually a 1.5hr charge plus the cost of the fluids.

Does it mean we get the oil for free?
Hey Stan, he means that you can bring in your own fluids and have them change them; you can usually find the fluids for less money than the dealer charges.
BTW Pierre, I don't see a problem with posting what they will be charging for this service, you are not promoting your own business without being a supporting vendor, and as far as I know there are no Canadian supporting vendors on the forum that this would be competition for.

My Dealer (North York Chev Corvette) has been doing that for years. They let you birng in aftermarket parts, used parts or fluids and simply charge labour for the work they do.
The only downside is that they will not warranty any parts that are not purchased through them. They will warranty the labour though.

I do that with all my parts.. charge book rate on labour or a bit less if IM having a few things done...warranty on labour
I will reconfirm with WN and Joe (SICK-VETTE) for Eastside. Like I had posted once before, my oil change at Eastside including the oils and filter ended up costing around $65 (all in). It beats the $114+ usually charged.
