427 Crash
Looks like somebody was doing a little racing early this morning on 427. Silver Vett launched his motor about 100 meters down the road, front end torn off. Hope the driver is OK. No pics, just heard it on BT.

Driver
He's in Sunnybrook in critical condition according to BT. I hope he's ok too.
PS. Dumbasses involved should save it for the track, not public streets or highways.

A 25-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital this morning, after an accident in Etobicoke late Tuesday night that police say may have been caused by street racing.
At about 10:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to Hwy. 427 at Rathburn Rd. where they found the young man ejected from his silver Corvette, said Ontario Provincial Police Const. John Desouza.
The sports car was torn to pieces, spreading debris across six lanes. “His front end was basically demolished,” said Desouza.
The Etobicoke man was speeding down the highway when his car collided with a guardrail and sound barrier, according to Desouza.
The driver was transported to Sunnybrook hospital, where he remains in critical condition with head injuries, said Desouza.
Witnesses at the scene told police they saw at least one other Corvette in the vicinity and that the driver may have been racing, said Desouza.
The northbound collector lanes of Hwy. 427 at Rathburn Rd. were closed until about 5 a.m. Wednesday, as the road was cleared and officers investigated the scene, said Desouza.

that car is matts old car from autoworx and the driver...possibly was miron, a longtime customer, his best friend drives a yellow zo6, Iwas just on the 427 south bound at 1045pm, nothing at that time as i went down town, at 1115 when i returned they were deverting traffic off at rathburn, we got off and went up the east mall and there was a huge chunk of the sound barrier wall in the east mall lanes. thats how hard the car hit the wall!!! that car had a brand new refreshed 436ci engine with the best of sticky tires on it..RA-1's. With inexperience at the wheel that doesn't amount to much thou he's only 25years old. lets all wish and prey for the best he is a really great kid. All the best to his family and hope he pulls through.

Hope the driver pulls through, let alone resume any resemblance of normal life. Critical head injuries more often than not carry long term & irreversible consequences.
Prayers to Miron for the best.

that is my good friend Myron. I just spoke to his family and he is on life support in Sunnybrook.
I was always scared when he bought the car. He is not experienced enough to have 500RWHP.
All we can do know is pray for him to survive with minimal damages. I will keep you all posted.

Prayers go out to Myron and his family for a speedy recovery
And just for the record, I don't think we need any more comments on how that should be saved for the track...thats a given and really doesn't add to the overall spirit of wishing him well...JMHO

I hope the driver pulls through ... I think all of our thoughts go out for him ...

I think it is long past time that we build a proper track in the GTA area, not an hour or more drive away from the city.
I know, I know, Insurance issues, noise issues, zoning of the site ... all obstacles that need to be addressed ... but I think the potential benefits outweigh these obstacles.

This is horrible!
I hope Myron pulls through!!
It is sad seeing my old car scattered across the highway on the news this morning but it is a machine and means nothing in the grand scheme of things. I just want Myron to make it through.

I disagree. Anyone with half the sense would have figured this to be a serious accident especially when the motor itself is ejected from the vehicle. So instead of asking or hoping for anyone not getting hurt, he posts a supposedly funny remark.

Glad no other innocent life was hurt.
