Default We need some Canadians for the ASCC!

Has anybody heard of the American Super Car Challenge? Check it out at www.racesupercars.com. There has only been a few of us attending these events! We need more Canadians to come and strut their stuff! The turn out has been getting bigger each year, but almost all the Vettes are from the states. Check it out, and come and join some of the fastest Vettes on the planet!!!

If I'm not mistaken, Billy from Speedway's planning on running his C5 Vette at the ASCC.
If he ever get's the Turbo C4 back out, he's gonna clean house...

Why do you think this won't be easy? Is it a personal issue or do you think people won't drive? Some of the races are close to the border!

Billy has been to at least one at Toronto Motor Sports Park already and did very well! If Pete does show up with that Yellow Beast, your right he should kick some azz! This is why we need more Canadians to go down! They all think we live at the North pole, and drive dog sleds!

As funny as that statement is, it's sad that there is some truth to that.....
It'd be fun to watch a Canadian go down to one of their events, with a IRS Vette, and take on their solid axle, tubbed out race-cars, and kick some azz...

If any of you are wondering about this C4, check out one of the vids on his site.
Guy's here brag about getting their IRS Vettes just into 150 mph & setting records.
This car was plated, driven regularly on the street, and driven to the track. I don't know of any 180mph cars doing that yet.
Keep in mind this was done over 4 years ago.
Listen carefully to the commentator at the beginning of the vid.

I agree that most probly do not want to drive 1-1/2 2hr+ to get to the track or may feel it is not for the average person, and would require racing experience.I have not entered yet although I have been asked by Ned to enter because it is usually held the same time as the osca events [url=http://raceosca.com/] so I am usually concentrating on that.Like anything info needs to get out so people will know there are events like this and that it does not cost much money to compete and have fun.

Nope. Not even close.

But then again, I don't need to know I'm the fastest around the block.
There are people that judge the size of my peepee according to how fast they are. I for one, I'm not.
If I wanted that, there were a multitude of other options I would have went with, some of them, would have cost me less than I spent on my ECS 447.
I'd rather watch other people go fast.

If he gets that car back with the 9" rear, that car's going 7's....

depends on what you want from the car...I agree w/h Tony...there are tons of things you can do...I too like to watch...my car is fine for the street...I'm not wanting much more (pulley swap+meth I've decided). I'd like to see what I can do for my own knowledge, but that's about it.
I've heard of king vette before...that's just an animal of a car. Cool vid!

Oooooo, a 150 mph Corvette....BFD

But I guess that's what makes the Vette hobby all that more inviting...there's something in it for potentially everyone...some like the 1/4 mile scene, some like to slalom, some like the NCRS gig, and some just like to get in their car and drive. But I agree with Tony and Steve...I guess the danger comes in using whatever yard stick winds ones watch to overlay on everyone's else's definition of why they own a Vette.

I promise...if you don't judge my reasons, then I won't judge yours

I didn't post on this thread to judge anyone! All I asked was a simple Question? "Who would come to an ASCC race" If you don't like drag racing so be it! If you like to sit and watch, thats fine too! But don't start bashing guys that are running 8-9 second cars that go 150+ mph! When that persons car which has a 447 only runs 11's at 132 mph $$$$$ wasted!

Steve, with all due respect, I'm not the one who drew the first sword here. Tony's original post was actually complimenting the guy's car and then you came along and ride him about not being able to do 150...frankly, I couldn't connect your response to his post

Where was I bashing his car????
My only intent was to compliment a brutally fast car, which I respect.
I really don't know how you understood my post as bashing ???

Please re-read my thread. I hope for your sake your comprehension was adversely affected at that time by liquor or something worse. At least you’d have a viable excuse .......

Wasted?
I'm not even going to attempt to justify that with an answer.
That comment reflects worse on you than me. But then again, I doubt you have the comprehension to understand that.
I get the impression that your one of those guy's I know that measures his weewee with how fast he is. Do yourself a favor, and grow up.

I was under the impression that you were bashing the cars that run 150! (THERE ARE GUYS HERE THAT BRAG ABOUT RUNNING 150'S AND SETTING RECORDS) By what you say in this last post, I'm sure this is not what you ment! Ooooops! I apologise!

No hard feelings Steve. I also apologize if I came on hard in my last post....
Now that you mentioned it, I can see where the misunderstanding came from. In retrospect, I should have clarified that I was refering to the TT and spray cars in the US that are bragging about running 150 mph on IRS cars when I noted 'Guy's here'.

I just stumbled on your car at your first post at the link.
Love to meet up with you one day, and see your Vette in action!
Looks like you have a nasty Vette yourself...
