Door Panel Hardware

For those of you that have transferred your existing hardware to new door panels, how did you remove the metal housing in front of the U-trim that encompasses the knob for the door lock and how did you re-install it on the new door panel?

I can't remember 100%, but isn't it held on with circular clips that are friction fit over the pegs?

It's sort of like a washer which fits over a mushroom type head Bruce.
