I have a TPIS Zed Zed 9 cam on order with the following specs, 226,226 and .483, .520. Can we go any wilder and still pass emissions in Ontario ??? 93 auto.
Iron Mike: How come. our `88 used to with out any problems. I always cganged the air and emissions filters before, ran the Vette up to operating temp and didn't let it cool down before it went on the machine.

The only thing I have left to replace are the cats. I hope to find the time, and more importantly, the money, to do it over the winter. Once all that mess is out of the way I'll start modding the engine.
Fred... I have been running the ZZ-9 Hydraulic Roller Cam and a high flow catalytic converters for five years and passed every time. I agree with 88BlackZ-51 a proper tune will pass emmission all day long.
And then guys wonder why they get themselves in trouble on this forum...
what do u mean by that? it was a suggestion. if you talk to guys at Agostino's, or guys on the C4 forum. a lower duration cam is easier to tune, therefore more emmission friendly.

Curious what kind of pwr are you making with that combo?
It looks awesome! On a 383, Yeah you wouldnt have a problem passing. But stick that cam in a 350, and its a little tougher to pass.

Nah, no luck...a lot of wanna bees..gonna store it for the winter and give it a fresh start in the spring. Doesn't help that the C4 prices have come crashing down now that C5's are getting within range...looks like it may have to be at the 19-20M range but we'll see

yes i hear that. i would concentrate in selling it on canada. way too many C4's in the upper, and lower states.
Fred.... I went with Brodix Track I heads, TPIS Mini Ram (This combination will not bolt together without major modifications by a machine shop), 1000 CFM Throttle Body, 42 Pound Injectors, Keith Black pistons with 5.7” Eagle H-Beam Rods, 383 Scat Crank, Canton 7QT Oil Pan, TPIS Headers, Roller Rockers and Lifters. My only regret was not going with an ATI balancer from the start as the stock 400 one spun the outer ring off into the timing chain cover.
Did you do the work yourself ??? I have AFR heads and a ZZ9 on the way with 1.6 RR's, this is going to be my fall project. Do you ever make it to Cayuga ?? If so what kind of times are you pulling ???
I do the majority of the work myself because it’s hard to find shops that perform the quality of work I’m looking for. Now it’s just not feasibly to do everything yourself so it always good to ask around to see what shops are reputable. For example I just got a four wheel alignment done on my car a few weeks back from Oakville Tire and would have to say they are a first class shop thanks to 4GTABODT referral. I do go to Cayuga about once a year to watch the big dogs run but thats about it for me.
