Default DYNO/Clutch Question.....

2 part question.....

I have never had a car dyno'd so I dont know what to expect This Oct 1st when we go to Redline Performance. My clutch is sticking on me when I bring it up to redline usually 2nd to 3rd or redline 3rd to 4th. The pedal doesnt come all the way back up and it wont go into gear easily. Its been at the dealers the last couple days. They said they couldnt get it to do it Like I want to tell them to keep beating on my car to test it....anyway, they replaced the master and flushed the clutch fluid as this seems to have been a fix for other people but I picked it up last night and it still did it. First off, anybody heard or gone through this and second is it worth me showing up to get it dyno'd or will this screw up the readings if it sticks? Thanks

Steve

They usually test in highest gear (not OD), so as long as you can get it into 5th, you should be OK.

Why not call the dyno and ask them. They would be able to give you a better answer than anyone here

I had this problem recently with my DD. Turns out the hydraulic bearing was leaking, and it was causing difficulty when changing gears, and the clutch pedal wouldn't return back to its proper height after I lifted my foot from it. Have you noticed the fluid level dropping in the master?

Nope, no leaking and just had it replaced....new master and slave, but been reading a lot of similar issues from the C5 Tech and it sounds like either removing the tension spring behind the clutch pedal might solve it...the only other problem it seems it might be is the Pressure Plate which is not covered by my warranty....so ...cha ching. This should be a recall or something, as it seems a LOT of guys have gone through this.

heres the sticking clutch pedal thread im now following

I had the throw-out bearing go on mine, same problem & then there was hardly anything left of the clutch.

Dyno is run in 4th gear...

UPDATE*************

ok, so tongiht I re-installed my Hurst shifter (again) and decided to pull the spring right out thats attached to the clutch pedal. When all was done, I took it to the back roads and launched it 4 or five times, each time running it to redline up to 4th....not once did it stick Not sure if its a permenant fix but it feels real good again.

My dealer in teh meantime is calling GM TAC? (the engineering group) to find out if there is a common problem across all C5's and what they recommend the fix is, they feel they are going to say if its modded thats why and its the pressure plate...oh well... it shifts
