Default Best Dyno shop in GTA

Hi...I'm looking for a shop to install my new P1SC (dyno and set up) on my 99 coupe. I'm located up in Sudbury Ontario and would like a good shop who has experience dealings with vettes. I've heard of Redline and Agostino. Can anyone help?

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a "P1SC"? Redline and Agostino are both experienced with vettes, what exactly do you want to know?

Nick closed down shop in Pickering, but he has opened up a new shop out by the airport:

Autoworx Performance Specialties
42 Voyager Court North,
Etobicoke, ON M9W 4Y3
Tel. : 416-213-0019

Here is Redline's info:

http://redlinepd.com

Where did you buy your Procharger from? I know a guy named Ray Sanchez who is a Procharger dealer; he owns a few Mr. Transmission shops around the city, including one down the street from Redline. I have seen him doing instals of them in that shop from time to time. His info:

4900 Sheppard Avenue East
Phone (416) 298-1353

I'm getting it from Andy A&A corvette in California. I called Redline and they gave me a price but I'd like to get another one just to make sure their price is a good one.
Thanks for the information 7t2vette...

I am very curious about this.. Can you PM me when you get the price? I am looking to do a SC myself (thanks to a few for the Push--including you Bruce)

Bruce, do you know if he has experience with installing a procharger in a C5??

I'm looking at ProCharger too in the spring but the A&A's D1sc version, single intercooler. I've been quoted $13K installed!

JETZ....I think that price is a little high....it's going to cost me 6800.00 cdn for the procharger(with GST and shipping) and I've got a price to install and set up with Ls1edit licence and cable 2440 plus tax (1300 install...500 dyno and about 640 for licence and cable) =9606.00 cdn....so your kit will cost 1000.00 US more..= 1170.00cdn...now this depends on the cdn dollar too and which bank does the exchange...I would buy soon before the interest rates go up which will drive the cdn dollar down....I wouldn't buy the ATI procharger as many people complain of belt slippage...Andy has a fix for this in his custom made procharger kits...check out the fI section on the forum....PS...my procharger price includes a new fuel pump too

Steve, I don't know if he has done a C5 yet. I've seen Camaros and Firebirds getting done there. Give him a call and see what he says. He does R&D for Procharger, and in turn they sponser his drag car. I have seen some pretty wild prototype blowers on his drag car, including one that was driven with a chain instead of a belt, the chain was a monster, the links were about 2" wide!! His new drag car is a late model Camaro that has a blown small block that is also alcohol fuel injected......this is the first car of this kind, no one has done this before. There are 22 injectors rated at 120lbs/hr each!!! He is having alot of tuning difficulties at the moment, so it is only running low 7's at the moment!

Prochargers installs are not to difficult to do..its all the setup....Thats why I started this thread to find the best dyno/setup shop in the GTA. Do some research on the procharger....pros and cons. Read the FI section of the corvette forum...that will help...

Have you given thought to a Magnason blower? I have heard good things about them on C5's. Caravaggio is another Toronto area tuner that I just remembered does blower instals and tuning/set up. Check this out:

Click on info for pricing.

I think Carravagio outsources to ARE or at least did.... with the Maggie you gotta get a new hood as well. John (Carravagio) has a nice one for that. I think Z06Cab has one.

It appears that Caravaggio's price for it includes the hood. Not a bad deal, $10,000 for a turn key install, including the hood and a polished blower case.

Wonder if its worth it to ship it to the states...what would be the shipping cost?? I guess it could be driven to Jersey to ECS and fly back, but thats a cost too.. what about all the guys in Cali....maybe not Texas anymore

Damn it for not having choices up here

Take the car to wheel to wheel powertrain in michigan for the install and tune. Isnt far from you and they have the MOST experience in setting up and tuning any FI setup.

The price of that blower install is going to be much higher then you think. If all you want is that blower setup, be it a mag or centrif. type, you'll be spending a ton more on other stuff as well. Fuel systems are not cheap, so add another $500 or so depending on what your application is, timing chain really depends on how your current engine condition stands, valvetrain needs to be changed, so add the cost of re+re the heads (gaskets+bolts ran me over $600), since you have the heads out, why not get them port/pol? so you'll prob. do that..maybe not though, but if you want some decent power, you want the heads to flow all that new air being forced in...you're forcing it in, you better get it out just as fast, and when you're going to put a ton of horse out on the street, you better have those rod bolts changed as that's the week link in the LS1 bottom end..I wouldn't go over 550hp on a stock bottom end, you're pushing it and looking for trouble..

Headers and free flow cats might be next on your list, but that can wait...also, w/h a blower, you want the upgraded oil pump and blower cam to make it work, that much better and safer. A custom cam w/h install is going to run you prob. about $700-$1000. Mine idles like stock but when she opens up, it's just crazy...As well, gages get pretty costly...you'll prob want fuel pressure and boost...electric type fuel pressure for sure, you can't put a mechanical fuel gage in your car, it's just not safe...god forbid anything happens and you have fuel shooting out in your face while your driving...As for boost, to save some cash you can go mech. but electric isn't much more...so figure on $200U.S/ gage..I got mine from my engine builder at a very good cost, mind you, I got everything done!haha so I paid dearly for that discount!!lol.....but if you go to perf. improvements, I got quoted $350 for the fuel, $280 for boost...and figure $70 or so for the A-pillar pod...I built my own gage housing, that's hidden as I wanted everything to look stock...no gages in site until they pop open! Anyhow...once you get it all done...you may actually double those supercharger install costs depending on what route you go...

BUT include these as your "FOR SURE" "GOTTA DO" mods when you're doing the blower....valvetrain, fuel system, oil pump, rod bolts (if you're going w/h big hp) and a good cold air intake...blackwing or haltech is fine. (Also, I'm not sure w/h the Centr.type blowers, but you'll need some better injectors as well! Add another $500+ depending on what you get) (note:all prices I stated are for the parts only, install price would be up to you to negotiate w/h the shop)

P.S- I think Ebz06 from waterloo has a set of AFR 205 heads for sale...those would be a great addition to any blower setup...good deal too!

Arun's heads are milled for 11.4:1 compression. Way too high compression for a blower.
