Hi guys, as some of you know Im looking to re-do my garage and clean it up, part of the task is to get rid of my extra wheels on the floor and hang them up on the wall. I will be picking up all the parts but I need to know if one of you or if you know a place can help me with some minimal welding. Here are the pieces I am putting together to hang on the wall.
I think you have some great ideas and your garage is coming along nicely;I think in oakville there is a dozen autobody shops with with Mig welders that would be happy to do this(or that) for you.If you need any help finding one I could give you a few suggestions.I think any of them would be happy to help you at a reasonable price(to bad they can't put it through on your comprehensive insurance however )

Suggest away any from personal experience or that you know personally?? I know there are a bunch of guys on speers but was hoping to get a name instead of walking in cold off the street. Thanks
I only know one (personally) person in Oakville ,given I am from Hamilton.I bought my Vette from Tony atPenninsula Imports. They do not do bodywork but they will weld for you, they also have some great cars to look at while you wait.Tell Tony, Bob sent you.I bought my torch red Z06 from him last year.He is real nice, never forgets to send out birthday or Christmas cards...it's beside Budd's on the service rd. I am sure you have seen it

Steve, can you be alittle more specific on your welding needs? It would help judge the amount of time and skill your looking for.
Pictures would help, you know we all like Pictures.

Frank, I'll be starting with these parts
and welding the 6" tubes to the 14" plate and then weld the flange bolts to the top of the 6" tube. very very straight forward, I just dont have a welder
Steve, I have 2 Tig/Stick welders, you can borrow one over the weekend if you know how to weld. Just let me know, since both of my argon bottles are empty and I can get them filled on Friday. If not, then I can weld them for you, unfortunately it would take some time due to my schedule. Remember as long as your not in any hurry.
Let me know.
P.S. They would have looked excellent in Stainless.

Ok, then pm me your number and I'll contact you towards the end of the week.
Hey Gettreal, are you using 3/8 threaded rod to hold the rim and tire assembly in place? I was just wondering if it has the strength. I guess it would as long as the rod isn't tooooooo long. You'll have to be sure you have enough wall reinforcement. Looks like a good concept, keeping everything off the floor. Now did you come up with that idea?

HAHAHA....its a 1/2" threaded rod right now, will be cutting them down to 4" long Im going to be mounting the top 2 and bottom 2 on an angle to offset the weight per stud... You kidding, Im not smart enough to figure this stuff out, a forum friend who is an engineer did all the figuring out
