Wish I could have made it but after last night I was in no shape to attend let alone wake up. One of my buddies just got engaged and well we took them out for some fun.
Great pictures Jason. Looked like it was a great turn out. So what was in the goodie bags?

Pretty good actually. they had Corvette T-shirts, Corvette Hats, other promotional material etc etc...
cool pics...I like that 63..too bad I couldn't see it in person...
sucks you didn't get anything though J, politics will always rule in these "Dealer" events....Did you get points? How was it scored? Did they make you enter into a certain class, modded, un modded, by year, model and so on..

It was people's choice unfortunately. I was entered in the "G" class which was 1997 to 2000 year cars unmodded. I am telling you guys, I walked around and compared all the other vehicles in my year/class. I had by far the cleanest engine bay/car in the lineup. Like I said, all the prizes went to club members. But it was alot of fun anyways and saw a few of the guys from here! Was a great day overall!
The only 2 things I had going for me was the white CAR bra (the amount of people that asked me about it was unreal) And I was the only white C5 there. Every other colour had duplicates. (There are only 18 White C5 coupes in Canada)

That '63 was just gorgeous. There were a couple of other pristine C2's.
I was there briefly, said hello to Jason and TwoPlusTwo. I gather that smook and desi were there earlier, but had already left.
It was a nice little show. IMHO, however, there were too many C5's and even C6's. Although I'm a proud C5 owner, I'm not sure I see the point of "showing" these cars. All it really amounts to is saying "I'm really good at washing my car". Unless the car is heavily modded, in which case it's a bit of a freakshow.
Again, just my opinion. Reasonable people could take a different view. One way or another, it was nice to see a bunch of Vettes in one place on a sunny day.

It's not really a serious competition as it's "entrants choice" ballot voting. This means a lot of friends voting for each other and some politics as well . Actually saw a guy at HILLFEST in the C3 class going around looking at people's ballots and hassling them to change their vote to his car and he ended up winning ! I found out he was actually a member of the Ontario Vette Club (guess they have no standards). Didn't bother me because i was in the C4 class , but it was still kind of pathetic.
Even though it's pretty clean and completely stock, I didn't expect to win with my C4 either. Although from walking around i didn't see many C4's that werent modified or repainted . Makes you wonder what people are looking for.
Politics aside , i really was looking forward to going to Gateway but a family member was in Hospital all Weekend and i couldn't get away.

Me too ....... The show I was at had a few decent C-3's, along with nice cars from all generations, but the "first in show" went to a nothing special 78 with painted windshield trim and a chunk missing out of his dash ..... there were several others I would have picked 1st.
Knowing this ........ I say "it is what it is" ...... I'm not at all impressed by what the judges select, so I'm not at all concerned about getting/not getting picked. Most of the time it means squat!!
I like what I like and that's why I go to shows ..... to see the cars and to appreciate the maintenance and work that has gone into them.
