Picked up my 2024 Z06 Coupe 3LZ
Bit late in posting, but I picked up my Z06 on Monday. 65 mile drive home and it was an absolute blast. This is literally a dream car after the C6 Z06 grabbed my attention when I was a teen. Still in a state of disbelief that it is in my garage. I just never imagined being in a position to afford the car.
It is currently at my xpel shop to get xpel, ceramic coated, 70% tint done, and install the scrape armor radiator guards. They are a bit backed up so they say it should be ready by the week of the 6th.
I miss it already.
My next biggest struggle with the car is I live in a state requiring front license plate. No way am I putting the ugly OEM mounting bracket on the car. I went with ZL1addons solution with using the tow hook receiver. It's probably going to block the right front camera, but aesthetically it's the best way to do it. I am not a fan of the stow n sho mounting. It doesn't look right being that low on the front end to me.

The car already has a plate holder. Pop off the half panel on the center panel and bend the plate a little.

Correct… still better integrated than any aftermarket option. Plus, if you can afford the car, you can afford a random $100 non-moving violation ticket once in a blue moon.

Plus risk them spotting the 70% tint on the windshield.
Plus forgot to mention no front plate is a primary offense so they can pull me over just for that. I could risk it if it was secondary.

I live in Virginia... I have been driving Corvettes for 22 years. Only received 1 NFP ticket and it was a few weeks ago driving to VIR. Guy ran me down for it. Was $103... oh well.

How would they spot 70% windshield tint? It's practically clear, as stock clear glass is 70%.
Congratulations, it's a gorgeous spec!

Did I go slap a front plate on or remove the tint? I'll let you be the judge.

2nd, I never understood the front license plate thing. I guess I am lucky, my state doesn't require it.
3rd, it is virtually impossible for a cop or anyone for that matter to notice you have a 70% tinted windshield, just by driving by you at 55mph, or whatever the posted speed limit is.
Only way they can maybe tell is if you get pulled over for something else, then they notice it, and even than 70% is nothing on the windshield. I have mine at 35% on 4 vehicles. A tinted windshield is the least of a cops worries. Ive tinted all my rides for well over 15+ plus years with 5% sides, 35% front and never been pulled over or given a ticket for tint. I was pulled over recently because I had a taillight out, and the cop never said anything about my tinted windshield or my side windows and this was on my chevy blazer. And if you do ever get pulled over, just roll down all your windows, this way you're just being courteous to the officer and he doesn't even have to ask you.

OP, I live in Illinois where front plates are required and I have never had one on my sports cars. I guess you have to know your state...I hear some are VERY strict about. Luckily, Illinois is more casual about it, though technically illegal and technically worthy of a ticket. I think in all my years I've had one officer mention it, but not ticket me for it.

Just trying to give the cop one less excuse to pull me over.

Beautiful car! Congratulations. I have a Red Mist stingray and just can’t get it out of my mind for my soon to order Z06. Absolutely beautiful color. Get many compliments on it. I keep trying to love HSG but I keep coming back to RM. I was hoping GM would introduce a new silver at the Bash so I could go in that direction, but no….. RM keeps haunting me.

Congrats!
I'm taking off my front plate lol. It's approaching summertime so i'll take the risk and then put it back on during fall/winter.

I don't know how they would spot 70% tint. I've got it on my car and didn't notice a thing when I picked it up. My wife and daughter have some shades that will show some purple off angle when they ride in the car. Until that occurred, they had no idea the window had tint on it.
1 ticket in 17 years of no front plate on my vettes. I would not put it on until you start getting pulled over.
