Default Vibration 80-85 mph

Anyone notice a vibration at 80mph or so while the transmission is in 8th gear. It feels like it’s in the front end but no shimmy in the steering wheel. It sort of comes and goes. Can’t figure out if it’s coming from the transmission or engine. I do notice a lot more vibration in the wheel as compared to my 2022 c8. Maybe it’s just the fpc engine gives off a lot more vibrations then the pushrod v8. Not sure if anything is wrong or that just the way it is. Feels like my 2022 was more stable at higher speeds. Is your z06 smooth at higher speeds. Maybe it’s the stiffer suspension or wider tires.

That is not typical of C8s or C8Zs. You need to check for wheel balance, alignment and/or bent rims.

No problem with my C8Z at 150 MPH for 90 miles.

Sounds like a bent rim or bad tire. I would start with a road force balance and check for out of spec wheel or tire.

Get it to 80 to duplicate shimmy - pull in both paddles and let her coast to help determine if wheels or drivetrain. 99% chance it's in the wheels

Nope. Mine is perfect. Definitely check your alignment. Possibly bent wheel from a pothole.

Negative. Sounds like a tire issue. Balance them would be my first move. Before they even take a weight off have them run the wheels and make sure not bent.

Do you have CCB''s? Early C6 ZR1's and Z06's w Z07 pkg had some vibration issues around 75-80 mph with poor quality CCB rotors.

No ccb. I am pretty sure it’s the wheels. Hopefully covered on warranty. Broke 500 miles. Car is a beast pulls like crazy above 3000

Put it in neutral at about 85 and still hear and feel the vibration. Has to be tire, wheel, or maybe rotor. They should fix it under warranty. Only have 500 miles. Should not have to pay for rebalance of wheels. Alignment feels fine. Not pulling at all.

Find the nearest tyre shop that has a Hunter machine and ask for a ‘full road force balance’
