Anyone have issues with the ceramic brakes??
As title suggests? Any down side to the ceramic brakes or are the standard cast iron better option. Will be a weekend car for nice scenic drives and the occasional track event.

I have put 1350 miles on my '24 Z thus far. The CCBs took a while to really start biting when applying the pedal. It took multiple burnish sessions and just putting miles on the car with aggressive driving. No issues at all. I plan to track the car later this year.

CCBs will generally last the life of the car on the street--unless you track the car--at which time iron rotors and upgraded pads have significantly lower cost to track.

I agree, now have 1200 miles and have had several burnishing sessions, they are fine. I pretty much use sport or track mode and all works well. It's a fun car.

I had them on a C6 ZR1 and now C7 ZR1 and they are great and practically zero dust. I don't track and so have never "burnished" the brakes on either car and they stop great.

Thanks for all the replies. I am 778 on macmulkin list but found a car very similar to my build, only difference is the CCB. You guys sold me on it. Now does anyone know a good transporter from Cali to the east coast??

Burning Brakes
both my zr1's have them. my c6 is a '13 and the brakes are still like new. I dont track my cars though. Never had an issue with ceramics and the zero brake dust while street driving is a huge plus.

perfect for street use and mild track use. we experienced fade in ccb and swap out to full ap competition brakes and ran it much longer and harder with 0 fade.
ccb is better for 99% of the people it is not for 1% that track their car hard and burn thru a tank of gas in 1 session

I think I experienced today on c8z with z07 on hoosiers. it felt like brake fade. this is thr first time I ran with my full ap competition calipers and ds3.12 brake pads. I know it can't be pad so I bleed the brakes still same.
i thought maybe hoosiers sticky and tire ans wheel slip so i pump it to 42 psi and still have it. then i try not to lock up tires and that fix the problem. i also try to engage abs which result in the problem.

I have 10k hard track miles on my C7Z with CCB's and a total of 45k on the car. Just had to replace the front rotors simply because they were eating front pads over just 2 - 4 tracks days. The street none of this matters. I cannot believe anyone would remove them to install heavy steelies for heavy DE track use or racing. My C6Z GT-2 race car has to run steel for class requirements if I could sneak on CCB's I would in a heartbeat! With that said CCB's are so overkill if your 90% street driving for the initial cost. My new C8Z on order is with steel and it's going to be a streetcar with occasional student rides at the track. I posted this because of my background and use of CCB's that I think few have and BTW, brake fade- absolutely not with CCB's. If there was then I would suggest poor brake fluid changes, poor pad choice or something else.
There's a company in the UK that restores old CCB rotors and a salesperson here in the states. Not cheap but in most cases less than new, call Rami Hyary 518-496-4429.
