Any Z06 HTC Owners switch the intake manifold to red
I am debating doing this mod. I know the price of the parts are ridiculous, but how worried should I be about the dealer perfoming the install?

That would greatly depend on the expertise of your dealer's Corvette tech. Might be a good idea to talk to the actual technician and see.

So glad I ordered my Z06 with the red intake already installed. It does look great and matches the red valve covers.

I ordered mine with the red valve covers and engine appearance package. Cant really see it unless the top is opening or closing and you hold it in position. Its cool for car shows or if you just want to show a few buds your masterpiece.

I have the factory workshop instructions and it’s not that complicated of a work task. At Fabspeed we CAD designed a very cool bolt-on appearance cover with a Jake logo and a stainless steel louvered unit like an Aston Martin and recent Ferrari 296 GTB we had in for development. These can be powder coated any color you like and or installed as is. Fits hard top convertibles and all coupes. On the hard top convertible - Spider I would buy a clear Lexan polycarbonate cover for the C8 convertible. John and or I will post pictures as soon as the piece is ready and signed off for production on our flow water jet and German press brake and powder coated in house.

Don't be a hater Glenn, we have enough of those around here as it is! (J/K of course) Like Gang Green mentioned above, it would mostly be for car shows, or showing friends & family. (And of course for geeking out a little extra myself whenever I open & close the lid! )

I wish these had been available when I ordered my car. Are the red valve covers available for purchase?

I understand your thoughts. I go to car shows almost every weekend, and its a bummer when the judges ask me about the engine. I was planning on using one of the clear covers with carbon fiber from Paragon or the seller on flea bay.

Im my opinion just buy a clear polycarbonate cover for your C8 convertible. Sure it makes very little financial sense BUT what the hell…….a C8Z51 or C8Z06 with 500 to almost 700 HP also makes very little face value practical and financial sense BUT it makes us all Smile and creates excitement. Ill post pictures of a my clear cover on my Z06 and the new engine appearance pieces we designed. If you guys want anything let john and i know we will hook up our fellow C8 enthusiasts!
I’ll try to repost factory C8Z06 intake plenum R & R instructions. A couple hours of patience and have any bodyshop paint them corvette red to match brake calipers and reinstall should be simple even on the convertible.
It’s a shame as hard top convertible engines are things of beauty and engineering . On late model Gallardo Spiders to Huracans they have the same style v10 engines but you cant see any of the engineering beauty until you do an oil change .
I wish GM Corvette C8 engineering designed a glass window panel for the C8 convertibles for the rear decklid hatch so you can see the engine all the time Top Up and it would be simple. Falcon engineering makes a kit for our cars . Ive been contemplating it.
