Default Futura Trailer fit a Z06?

I am looking to get a Z06, but afraid it won’t fit. Futura Trailer is 80” wide and Z06 is 79”, so ya, will that fit? Anyone use a Futura?

It will fit but as you recognize, it will be tight. Just make sure you have a true 80" between the fenders and that they can come off for loading/getting out of the car once loaded.

@NXTFAZE I believe hauled a C8Z with a Futura.

I don't have a C8Z but do I have a 2024 Timpte 720 lowering trailer which has an 82.5" usable deck.

I normally trailer in an ATC enclosed trailer - there is a thread on how tight the fit is. I have, however, moved the C8Z on the Futura a couple of times. I have a Z07, so the fit is a little tight until the dive planes clear the trailer tires, but the car is not that wide in the middle. It gets tight again behind the fenders, but the Futura is wider near the back (84"), but gets tight as the wheels get closer to the trailer fenders. I didn't tow too far, but the tongue weight felt a little light with the C8's mass near the rear. Sorry I don't have a photo of the C8 on the trailer, but here is a shot of my C6Z loaded. Plenty of room. I cross-strap the rear so the car doesn't shift sideways. Don't forget to take the raise/lower remote with you if you drive on the trailer - you will need it to raise the trailer so you can get out. LOL

Yep, unless you have a pretty long trailer to compensate, you should back in to the trailer. Mine is a Z51, and can't speak for Z06 fitment, but I'd definitely recommend getting the winch option, or else you might have a pretty hard time even if it fits.

ya, I noticed it’s way easier to back in, move mirrors straight down to tires and makes it easy to navigate. How much space do you have on sides after u get Z51 on trailer? Think the Z06 is 3” wider. In total, 79” wide

Feels like about an inch or so on each side. Since the steering is on front tires, maneuvers have a lag in effect when you back in, so it complicates things a bit, but I got better in time. With 79" width, it'd be hard every time regardless of experience to back in; you'd have to start perfect. I often start a bit off, but fix it as I progress.

I have the newer gen Futura trailer with the 81" wide deck - I would absolutely NOT recommend it for a Z06. I'm selling mine and replacing it with a trailer with 85" between the fenders. IN THEORY the Z can fit on it but it is so tight that I would say you will absolutely scratch your wheels at some point.

Note 1: Mine is also the newer gen, wider model. It's tight with Z51 already. Part of the problem is raised side walls for rigidity, that leaves no tolerance for errors.
Note 2: My comment on having to back in was to address the weight distribution issue; just wanted to spell it out in case it's lost in the text. As always, we're supposed to have at least 10% of the weight of the trailer on the tongue for stability and to mitigate trailer sway.

Ok, so another huge hiccup, I just measure the door on Z06, from ground up, it’s 8.5” and the top fender of the Futura Trailer is at 9”, so means you can’t open the door!!!!!!!!!

Did you remove the fender? It's pretty easy to remove. In fact, it's so easy, it removed itself once, and since then, I bolted them in : )

Default Z06 on ATC 20 ft open trailer

Here is our Z06 loaded on a 20ft ATC trailer. We have a winch to get it on the trailer and the doors open when the car is on the trailer.

I trailer my 23 z06 on the new futura that is 81" wide. you got about 1" total space left. my track wheels don't fit on trailer as it is flush mount look.

guessing you back it in using the mirrors pointed down at tires? That’s damn tight fit

I don't think you can drive (or back) in with those tolerances. Even with my narrower C8 Z51, it's strictly winch only...

What? Use the winch to pull the car in? How is that any better or easier?

Obviously so much easier?? : ) With the winch, you can slowly pull it onto the trailer with the remote, stand by the tires, and make minute corrections to steering to clear on both sides.
