Default Removing Center Grille Trim

Does anyone have directions to remove the center license plate trim piece in the z06 grill opening so its a wide open grill? I remember seeing it somewhere but can't find it. Thanks.

I'm sure there are instructions somewhere, but it's simple. Remove the two plastic pieces on either side (one is the same as the tow hook) and then remove the screws. Nothing to it...

I did mine a few months ago and I'm going from memory - my car is at the dealer having the rims changed - so I will try to do my best.
Sit at front of car - to the left and right of the center piece are 2 small squares by camera - pop them off with a plastic trim tool. That will expose 2 screws - remove screws and center panel will remove.
But, it leaves behind a backing plate - there are 2 plastic screws. Only turn them 1/4 of a turn - they hold similar to a jacking puck, so you only need to turn them and wiggle.
Replace outboard screws for safe keeping, pop the plastic covers back on - done.

Again, going from memory and I'm sure someone will correct me if I forgot something....

Could have sworn someone said this was in the Owner's Manual.

Is here any downside to removing these panels? I do think it looks better.
