A few questions about Z06
Rather than starting several threads, thought I'd do in one.
1) What are your thoughts on aftermarket grill guards? Necessary? If so, pros/cons of a few types? I know some aftermarket ones are easier to install than others with wire ties, and others you have to take the front bumper off. If you buy as an option, I assume these are dealer installed...so the dealer would add a labor charge? Thoughts?
2) I sort of asked this in another thread, but who does PDI if you get the museum delivery? Is it GM employees? Do they do it within the assembly plant before sending to the museum or is it done at the museum? Are museum employees part of the UAW (not that it matters, just curious how separate the museum is from GM)?
3) Is the gas guzzler tax added on after MSRP? Is someone willing to show pics of their window sticker so I can see how the pricing is totaled and displayed?
4) I read somewhere that the warranty includes an initial service after 1 year. What is included in that service?
5) Is there some sort of discount at a driving school for a first-time Vette buyer? If so, thoughts on that?
6) What are recommended oil change intervals on the Z06 and what viscosity of oil?
7) As far as the badging, help me understand what is "standard". I'm talking about the rear spoiler "Corvette" lettering on the rear, the "flags" on the front fascia and rear deck, and so on. I see there are options for black, chrome, etc....but if you choose no options what finish do you get?
8) Anyone have photos of the stealth interior trim vs standard that I can see the difference side by side?
9) Does the car come with an owner's manual? In a leather case of some type? Or is it online digital only?
10) What is "GM Workbench" and who has access to it?
Thanks, trying to learn.

#4. It is easy to download the 2024 owners manual. This will answer this, and many other questions.
#6. See answer to #4.
#8. Peruse this forum, specifically the pictures of cars stickie on the C8 General forum. Also lots of different threads on the Z06 forum. I too had this question and found many pictures of the stealth interior. BTW I’m going to get it on my Z06.

#5, you are getting a HUGE discount for the driving school when you purchase a Z06, it’s only $1000. Take the class, it’s fun, and money well spent. Normally the class is over $4K.
They release dates by email, every first Monday of the month. But in December they released them 2x already. I’m going in July. Wife is gonna drive.
When you get your Z06, call them and you will get assigned a rep, give them all your info, VIN# and wait for the driving dates. They fill up fast. So keep checking your email first Monday of each month. I was getting reminder emails the week before. I checked mine every 10-15mins.
I’ll be heading back for the CT5 V Blackwing class as soon as I take delivery, sometime next year.

And even if you wanted to pay out of pocket for the class, they won’t let you. I tried buying an extra seat so both the wife and I could drive and they said they couldn’t do that, but I could buy a seat in the C8 class. I passed.
There just isn’t enough Z06s to go around right now, but it may change in the future.

Unfortunately the gas guzzler tax is added on top of the MSRP despite the tax being on the manufacturer, not the consumer, and thus should be included in the price.

Correct - I just ordered them for mine. It does not change the look from the front (wish they did) but it does offer another layer of protection from leaves/rocks and other debris so it does not damage the radiators. Those grill holes are rather large so it made sense to me - expensive tho.
