C8 Z06 cars built during strike
Have we seen any more increased issues with cars built during the recent strikes than pre strike? My allocation may come up soon and starting to wonder.

Having multiple issues with mine (see my thread on "idle creep", which has morphed into issues with the entire car minus engine so far). The thought of turning my Z back in and going the Porsche route is creeping heavily into my mind, but I'm still clinging to hope. Would rather have the Z frankly, but I also need a vehicle I can trust. We will see...

Seems like buying any car post 2020/covid is a crap shoot. Just look at the Broncos when they released...the V6s dropping valves like LS7s and going boom. It's like nobody takes pride in anything anymore and it's sad to see.

I would always lease the wife a GMC whatever. The last two bothered me. Both Denalis. And with one Durango in between before that was a 2010 Denali Yukon.
I got tired of the perceived build quality issues I noticed and said next one will be a cadillac.
Given the wife must have smaller eyeballs that I do, she refused the Escalade (too big) but ok'd a new XT6 Platinum. Loaded every option and I said wow. They did a nice job with this car!
I lemon'd that car about 6mos ago now.
I thought by jumping to the best that this mfr had to offer (gm) it would keep me happy and from issues. It didn't. The service dept was much better than dealing with chevrolet but not much more than GMC to be honest.
I do wish corvette was serviced in Cadillac its a shame they don't make the move but I digress.
Sure porsche can give you a great problem free car but so can chevy. If you want to be pampered when things go wrong? Well you aren't getting that from chevy that's for sure.
I wish you well and hope to hear your resolution one wayon another. Good luck.

I hear you. Don't even really disagree with you. I'm a firm believer that anything made by human hands won't always be flawless. My emotional reaction is to dump it and go with a brand that is more reliable with their quality, but logically I understand that it's still very early in the game to jump to the nuclear option. I've been waiting for years on my Z06 build because that is what I wanted, not the 911. I'm still holding out hope that they will eventually get this resolved because at the end of the day, this is the car that was my dream car. Even with it being Chevy though, you would think their quality control would be better for a healthy 6 figure car. Just need to be patient...
The same people are mass producing this 150 180k car as they are the 60k car.
The GT500 and ZL1 etc go through same **** as the rental versions are assembled by the same people on the same line.
One difference with chevy is the pbc but who knows if that's better or worse!
I assume it must be better otherwise why wouldn't they dump it?

Agreed. That's why I'm trying to keep my emotions out of it

My check engine light went on the 2nd day of driving it. It went off within an hour. But it did freak me out a bit, I’m a week in now and hoping it was just some isolated non issue. I agree with others in that GM should understand customer expectations are a bit different with $150k cars.

Drifting
This one was built during the strike. Major DCT lead and flatbed back to dealer at 80 miles. Missing screws under front spoiler. Loose screw under gas pedal. DCT lead fixed. Some upper engine noise at low RPMS. Don't know if that is normal. Drives great through.

Thanks Blue! GM engineering is still working on my issues. Without going into too many specifics, the down side is that the problems I am having seem to be affecting a very large number of Z06s. The plus though is that they are actively trying to figure out a fix, especially with this affecting so many Zs. I think it's going to be a pain, but I still have faith that they will get it figured out. Might not be a strike issue after all, so much as the electronic architecture might not have been quite "ready for prime time" yet, lol

Mine was build week of 10/13. Only 100 miles on it so far (damn winter in the northeast) but the fit and finish is absolutely perfect and no issues so far. Of course need to get some more miles on it, but the car looks absolutely perfect.
