My early October, build Z06
Picked up my car 10 days ago, it has 200 miles on it, no issues. Just checked my transmission and CV seal. Everything looks dry as a bone. This car runs strong and it is very pleasant to own so far. Consequently, I own 40 medium duty trucks, Fords freightliners and Kenworths,. ZF makes a lot of transmissions for medium duty trucks. I was advised when ordering recent trucks to avoid ZF, and go with Alison’s. The Pat car transmission for medium duties that is labeled a Pat car is a ZF. I believe However, based on recommendations, I ordered trucks with Allisons to avoid transmission problems. I think everything mechanical has its issues at times, I am not afraid of this car. But I will be running it hard early on after breaking to make sure that it fails early, if it is going to fail.

I believe the PDK was originally developed by Porsche and ZF. I believe if i understand correctly this took place 15 to 20 years ago. I am personally aware of a lot of PDK failures 10 to 15 years ago. Not many or any in past 5 years. My guess is these will also shake out, but early on there are failures, in everything. I just ordered several kenworths, and the standard paccar transmission for these is a ZF. The dealer advised me that the ZF transmission for my appication was inferior to the Allison. After some research that supported his comments i spent the extra 5k and ordered Allisons. ZF is not immune to issues, nothing is.

You’re seriously saying the ZF 8 speed is less reliable than the dct in the c8 generation? Lmao
mind you there are multiple variants of the ZF, I’m talking about the 8 speed. That’s found In higher end performance bmw, Bentley, all the dodge charger, challenger, Durango hellcat etc?
that’s not proven? Lol

I don't have issues with my car. Does that mean i have to deny the truth? The truth is, is that people are having issues with their DCT's. Not only in the z06 but stingrays as well. The 5th MY of the stingray and owners are still having issues.
Buying a car because you're afraid of a problem defeats the purpose of being a car enthusiast. You take the risk whenever you buy ANY high performance car.
But to say the DCT in the C8's aren't problematic is simply being in denial.

Safety Car
If you were that concerned about DCT in the C8 generation, why buy the car for? Have you personally experienced problems with it? If not, enjoy the car. Why worry about something you can’t control. ALL cars will have problems/issues eventually..
I am staying with the C8 Z06 (on a list). My past 7 Corvettes I have owned were great. Plus the evolution was notable.
