2024 Infotainment system
I really don't care for the new infotaionmt system. I preferred the one in my '22 Z51 over the new for '24 Google based system.
I don't like how it looks, and I think the voice recognition is inferior to the old system.
First world problems, I get it, I'm sure it will grow on me but just curious on other's thoughts....

It's just so terribly bad....
I again wasted half an hour of my life screwing with it in my garage.
After unsuccessfully scanning the QR code to log in 3 times and just getting a failure message, I then proceeded to enter my google password about half a dozen more times. My only real motivation being to use maps directly vs. on AA, and also to download spotify.
Well, I did finally get maps to work - although stupidly still NOT full screen, to the point someone made in a previous post.
Then I tried to download spotify. If anyone actually succeeds in dong this, please enlighten me as to what the secret is...
Every time I hit the install button, it would spin like it was installing and then just go right back to the same screen.
I got sucked into the death loop of just hitting install over and over for about 3 minutes until I gave up.
Oh, and the lag with the voice commands is horrible. I actually think signing in made it worse.
The system in my 2017 Ford Focus econobox is better....
Oh well, at least I broke the 500 mile mark this morning and unlocked this beast.
I love this car, so I guess if my only complaint is the stupid info screen I can live with it.
It just seems like a low point that easily could have been avoided.

I use CarPlay 100% of the time and I hate how this new system won’t display it full screen. All those google icons and crap that I don’t need to see are still visible when CarPlay is running.

I haven't got my '24 yet, but I do like that the temp & time are fixed in decently sized font at the top. I think the hope with AA users is that they'll just pay the monthly data charge to use integrated Google Maps and other apps. I tried this on my '23 and the app functionality was ok, but obviously was not Google Maps for nav, so I let the data trial expire. I'll be much more likely to pony up for the data plan to have integrated Google Maps, Waze, Pandora, etc, especially as integrated Google Maps Nav directions will integrate with the HUD. I do agree the soft touch buttons on the left and the physical home button are redundant. Do one or the other, not both. As usual, even though the Corvette is GM's performance and technology leader in most cases, the infotainment screen always lags behind the rest of the product line. They should really have at least used all the screen real estate that's there instead of leaving a huge black border.

I don't have my 24 yet, but this new screen layout doesn't look as modern as my previous 23 due to the lack of colors.
Also, I hope the 24 system response will be quicker, since my 23's response to inputs was very laggy.

Really there’s no way to go full screen mode with CarPlay? That sucks… the screen already is a bit small by today’s standards (even without an interior redesign I’m hoping they eventually upgrade the screen to increase size by reducing the large, unused border around the existing screen). Plus from an aesthetics standpoint I wouldn’t want to see all those other needless icons.
Hopefully the interface is improved over updates.

Such poor development on the 2024 UI. There is no excuse for the non full screen CarPlay and the low rent home screen. MY2023 is so much better.

It really shouldn't be that bad. I lived with a 6.8" screen for AA in my '12 ZR1 for several years and had zero complaints. Also, my '21 Jeep GC does something similar keeping a large row of buttons at the bottom and info strip (time/temp) across the top, so it'll probably be similar to what I'm used to on that. Would I prefer full-screen AA/CP? Sure, but it's not the end of the world and it'll still be fine once you get used to it. What I really want to know is if it goes full screen for the native Google Maps Nav.
Nobody’s buying this car for its infotainment system I get that but we shouldn’t be taking steps backwards is the point… especially considering the interface is developed by an actual software juggernaut who should know better.

I hate it. I prefer my 22 z51 or 16 z06

Still don't update it when there is an update right? Or did they fix the problem?
Did you guys register the infotainment when you first got it? I just ignore it for now.

Call me crazy, but coming from a 2020 and picking up my 2024 in a couple weeks, I welcome the changes.
Hopefully, I'm right......
- 2020 didn't have wireless CarPlay. I had to get a Ca2Play adapter which sometimes took minutes to reconnect after turning off the car at a gas station or a rest stop
- 2020 didn't have time and temp tile available in the dashboard
- Holding the home button to get out of CarPlay was annoying. Having the icons on the left of the screen makes sense to me
Hopefully, I'm right......

Wireless CarPlay is a feature unrelated to this GUI change. At the minimum I think the frustration is they don’t allow an option to go into full screen mode for CarPlay and AA… that should have been a given. I’m sure they’ll address this in a future firmware update.

Oh well, at least I broke the 500 mile mark this morning and unlocked this beast.
I love this car, so I guess if my only complaint is the stupid info screen I can live with it.
It just seems like a low point that easily could have been avoided.
