Default Z07 Stiff brake pedal feel - need feedback from forum

Hey guys, got my hands on a ‘23 Z07. Trying to get past the 500 mile mark. The brake pedal is awkwardly stiff. Heavy hydraulic feel. Car stops, but if you want a sudden jerk stop or initial bite, it doesn’t. Not confidence inspiring. It takes a heavy foot to push the brake.

On carbon ceramics and maybe it’s the pads getting broken in? Just curious if others had a stiff/heavy brake pedal. Even after all the adjustment modes.

Congrats on the Z07! Brakes need to be burnished before they will bite. See snip below.

Yes, these CCBs are not great until broken in. I didn't experience "heavy pedal", but "holy crap why do I need to psuh the pedal to the floor to make it stop" pedal.

Will get much better. Also note, pedal feel is adjustable as part of drive modes as well....

Thank you both. Feels better reading the procedure and hearing similar experience. Whew! Can’t wait for their bite.

Fantastic brakes once burnished, I have them on my C6 Z07 and they have monster stopping power.

Glad we can help, they do not bite well when new. Note I initially pasted the Z51 burnishing procedure incorrectly, I edited it for the Z06 CCBs above.

Once properly burnished, that will be a thing of the past. I can tell if a CCB equipped car has had the brake burnishing done correctly just by driving it through the parking lot. The difference in brake pedal feel and initial bite is dramatic.
