I’m oddly intrigued by the EV Boxster. Curious to see how they electrify their bread and butter driver’s car.

The biggest benefit I see is that tracks that are being engulfed by housing won’t have to close from noise complaints.

“Who can guess what treadwear tire it’s on by the squeal?” is going to be thread title of the future I predict.

Claim is the Z07 wing will be standard on the ZR1 and the more aggressive wing is going to be for a track package, like ZTK on C7ZR1.

Love it. Now you can have a track car or a "Starbucks" edition. Best of both worlds.

My guess is CCB will be standard along with P4S tires, then carbon fiber wheels and Cup2Rs on the “ZTK”. The question is does it run any faster 0-60 for the street racers than Eray? Don’t see it being able to improve much over the Z06 honestly and assume they’ll just change the transfer gear ratio, it’ll pull harder up top for the roll racers though.

Not to me it doesn't. It doesn't have the harmonics of a CPC engine. It sounds like a turbo FPC engine, and running at a lower RPM than the Z06 engine. I hope they didn't drop the redline too much.

Looks like they put exhaust silencers over the exhaust tips due to being too loud for the track, so I still think it's hard to say what the powerplant is based off the sound.

It's not hard....

1. We've seen the CAD

2. We've heard it at idle at a gas station sounding just like the LT6, but a little muted

3. It's got center exit exhaust

4. We can hear it on the ring.

It's 100% a TT FPC V8... the question will be compression, cams, max rpm.

Hmmmm.

Why waste money on the FPC? Go with larger displacement plus turbo.

Because GM leverages economies of scale... the LT6 was designed to also be the LT7. There's no need to have larger displacement when you bring turbos in the mix.

Well, 15 years as an automotive engineer working with GM programs argues otherwise.

I just didn't want to waste my time arguing with someone who thinks the N/A Z06 can provide economies of scale to the FI ZR1 engine...

'cause that's pretty ridiculous.

LS6 w/ altered compression and cam profiles + turbos = plenty of economy vs. a bespoke engine. It's not CPC... you'll see soon enough.

Probably FPC. Will sound good, but obviously more muffled from the turbos. Potentially will be a better candidate for aftermarket exhaust, and possibly blow off valves......ffffshhhhhhhooooo

^ No way man... it's going to be a totally different engine... don't look at the storage crates or the engravings on the fixtures :p
