Heads up - they are tracking and reporting driving habits
Heads up if you haven't seen this.. even after my OnStar initial trial was over, I checked the MyChevrolet app and noticed that they are tracking and reporting driving habits including what they consider hard acceleration and hard braking events. I disabled this in the app by going to "more" in the bottom right and then unenrolling from Chevrolet Smart Driver. It was on by default in my case. A few of my friends mentioned their information has been sold and even ended up on their credit report in some cases as C8 owners.

Something tells me when you "unenroll" it merely stops showing YOU the data.

It's worse than that, and it will continue until we as consumers are vocal about rejecting it:
But I was confused by one of your statements- what exactly ended up on your friends' credit reports? Only financial information goes on there, not driving habits.

Its not just the Corvette....the new normal of selling your customer's information to other sellers of goods and services. Kudos to Nissan, Subaru and Kia for chasing us into the bedroom....

Crazy how near-perfectly this aligns the the FICO Safe Driving Score linked to above. To me there's almost no doubt that GM is sharing/selling this info with FICO and others to use against us in the form of higher insurance premiums.

Well thats complete BS! Thanks for the heads-up. I just unenrolled as well. What do you all bet though, that if/ when the software updates next, you will probably automatically be opted back in. So we will need to keep checking with every software update as well.

Thanks for letting us know, OP. ******* car companies. Seems like it isn't possible to be a company in the auto industry and not be a gigantic pain in the ***.

Advanced
Thank you OP for this. I had no idea. I had a number of ‘hard accelerations’ tallied. Duh…it is a Z06 after all, LOL. Unenrolled and erased.

I may just get rid of the app altogether, given this garbage privacy violation and I'm sure others.
What actual, valuable real-world use does it have that you can't already do from the keyfob or information you get from the DIC?
