Usually people who call others envious are the ones who are lol.
I actually can't wait for the ZR1, it will make the FI guys shut up already, if they'll even want one when it starts at like 155k.
Anyone who's been on the wait list since 2020 already has a z06, or getting one very soon. I should have mine in 3 weeks or by labor day i hope. I didn't want FI. I wanted NA goodness! ANd i got it!
Btw, wait until you go against a model s plaid in your ZR1 lol. You're going to see those tesla tail lights.

Drifting
^^^
The higher the speed, the advantage goes to the ICE car with similar hp. That's where the extra weight of the EV start to factoring into the equation.

I am not here to start an argument or debate. I just want to temper your expectations.
I have both. 7500 miles on my C8Z close to 200K on my C7Z M7.
They are both excellent cars.
But in my experience there are only 2 conditions where the 8 is superior to the 7.
From a dig up to lets say 1/4 mile or so. And all out racing on a prepared circuit with tight turns. (think disadvantages of supercharger heat for the 7 and tighter gearing/quicker shifting for the 8).
Most any other time in daily situations on public roads it seems the 7 is the better tool.
The 8 is heavier, wider, longer and needs RPM and down shifts to make power. The 7 has better brakes, and brake feel. The 7 has better skid pad numbers on fresh tires as well.
I love them both, but at speed from a roll you need to be very careful with your 8, there are several of the usual suspects out here that are capable of showing you tail lights before its all said and done. Truthfully the 8 should have come with 700-720 hp. JMHO.

I love torque but you can’t enjoy a c7z on the street.
the same people who whine about how underpowered the c8z is at triple digits are the same people who say oh don’t race on public roads, take it to the track nonsense.
c8z will be more involving. And more fun imho.
I’ll find out soon.

Now this is funny, thousands of us have been partying on the street in C7Z's for years and holding our own.
Torque is more useful on the street than anywhere. In all out racing once you are off and moving and spending much time at WOT, horsepower is often the better tool.

ZR Stock?
im sure the Tesla you came across wasn’t a plaid because …….
in 0-60 you lose
1/4 mile you lose
60-120 you lose
hi end speed you win👍
just factual from what I’ve witnessed at the track and my seat 🍿👍

C7Z's aren't losing to C8 Stingrays on the street that's mostly an old wives tail. Calm down and I will tell you why.
The 0-60 times you are relying on for your opinion of the C8 Stingray being quicker than a C7Z are using launch control with a high rev launch.
In other words a best case scenario with plenty of warning ahead the race is going down. Although possible this rarely happens on the street in the real world.
Lets be honest not many of us can get the C8 into lunch control quick enough at the average stop light challenge to begin with. Secondly if you can/could you better hope the race is less than an 1/8th mile or so with a perfect traction control launch. Anything more and the C7Z will be out front in short order.
The point is I gave you an opinion about real world experience driving both cars and you resulted to childish name calling.
It seems to me you are butt hurt. How about when you get your C8Z you come back and tell us folks who are driving them every day what the real deal is.
C8Z bench racer. LMAO.

Lol it
must have been a dream you had because in reality it would be a nightmare STOCK running up against the PLAID in anything less than a 1/2 mile run.
just keeping it factual
you are correct the ZR will catch the plaid eventually……… about a mile down the road 🍿
Heck the 2017 P100D is = in the 1/4 mile run with ZR
just watched them run last week at track

Safety Car
The 2-3 times per year I come to this forum, I am quickly reminded why I sign on so little. It's crazy to me how grown men act like 15 year old boys in almost every damn thread on this platform. It's ridiculous.

Each car has its own pros and cons.
it’s all in what you prefer and the C8Z definitely has some advantages depending what the owner is looking for!

I can't speak to half mile or mile events as idk what their top speed limiter is at nowadays but I can assure you no production ice car stands any chance from a dig or a roll even at a prepped track against that car.
Take note of that et and mph in the video vs the ZR which can 10 6
