C6 ZR1 would walk an M7 C7Z and it should. $130k car vs $80k car. Truthfully I think the C7Z is the sweet spot for comfort, handling, big power on a budget etc. I prefer the look of the C7Z over C8Z but have to tell the truth about vast superiority of the C8Z

Per your quoting the magazines - The MPH is way slower in a C8 Z06. the C8 Z06 is great out from a dead stop given it's ME platform and advanced technologies including launch control. Stop deflecting now - I just posted the VIR times.

Really not fighting, had em all, still have em and drive them regularly
As a rule I don't like the ME C8 . I think they bastardized the Corvette name BUT the truth shall set you free. Truth is, on the track, both strip and road course the C8Z is now the top stock Corvette

Hell even Tadge says it..........and there you are saying it just cant be. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...per-tadge.html

Truthfully if you have a C7ZR1 I can understand it. Do you?
Show me the actual facts of this happening - The car has been out over a year. Tadge is a marketing man for GM. He never said it would beat a C7 ZR1. He said it would hang. Good for Gm - We all love the C8 Z06. A C7 ZR1 is faster on lesser tires. On equal tires, at your VIR track, the C7 ZR1 is much faster.

I am done discussing this. I can post all of the facts you want and then you post bench racing stuff, deflect to meaningless 0-60 times, etc. Understand platforms and their advantages and disadvantages. Understand tires and suspension set-ups. I am not dissing the C8 Z06 - It is a wonderful machine. But yo will need the C8 ZR1 to beat a C7 ZR1.

I think he's trying to say the C6ZR1 would be even with the C7Z and the C8Z from a roll?

Guess we're talking about roll racing again.

All i know is that if GM ever posts a ring time, and it's faster than the C7 ZR1 time, the discussions will be fun.

Especially since the excuses will be about tires. ANd how there was traffic with the C7 ZR1 run and they had 45 day old tires. And it was wet but not with water, someone pissed on them to slow it down.

Like we're all talking about corvettes. This is what we love. Doesn't matter which gen.

But we're also not blind. And to someone who's not blind like myself, i can see on that track, i see a quicker time for the C8Z.

Lol Im actually surprised it hung out as well as it did given the gearing in the C8Z is idiotic to say the least. C7Z w/ A8 will obliterate one period!

IF they do, or there is some "unofficial" time and it's still faster, then it's faster. And discussions will be fun.

Wasn't the car rumored to run 6:5x according to some people?

If that ever happens, the internet will crash. Or corvetteforum will crash because the excuses will be too much for this site to handle lol

Put the C8Z on cup2s and watch it lose a few seconds at VIR. Running Cup2Rs is like running hoosier R7s.

This. C7Z did 2.39.77 with updated mag ride on cup 2s, I doubt the C8Z would best that on the same tires

I still believe the C8Z will be faster than a C7Z on equal tires and drivers. The C8 is way easier to drive at these high power levels. It's just the tire delta between the cup2r and cup2 is giving so many naive people the impression that the rear mid engine platform is vastly superior to the front mid engine platform when it comes to lap times. It's better, but not several seconds better in a 2 or 3 minute lap. It's all about the tires. Glad GM is finally showing the general public what a corvette can do on those magic cup2rs. The track guys already know what can be done on sticky tires.

do you have a c8 z on order? I’m starting to think it’s those who are discrediting the car are the ones who don’t have one on order or are still on the wait list but won’t see the car until 2026.

it’s not a missile like the plaid. For a fat pig NA car it’s incredible.
Gotta love how you project your 10 year old mind onto others here.

Yeah and I’m still right about everything I said.

imagine that. Someone who doesn’t even track cars can be right in a discussion like this.

go whine somewhere else about tires. C8Z was faster period.
