To Z07 or not Z07
My dealer called yesterday where I have the next allocation. They said the regional sales rep called and said they are giving them one more 2023 allocation and its coming today. I have by noon to make my decision. I did NOT spec carbon fiber wheels on either and will likely go with a nice set of BCForged wheels upon arrival.
Amplify Orange 3LZ Z07 w/ Carbon Flash Ground effects, black interior, comp seats, stealth interior and level 2 carbon interior, engine appearance package.
or
Amplify Orange 3LZ non-Z07 with CCB, and all the same options as above.
-Any reason I shouldn't go all out with the Z07 (if it is a Z07 eligible allocation)? Build price is only $6k different.
- Carbon flash looks better on orange than exposed carbon in pictures but is the exposed that more desirable?

Having seen the Z07 & non-Z07 in-person right next to each other, there's no way I wouldn't get the Z07 simply from an appearance perspective. From a value perspective the Z07s are more desirable down the road.

You do what makes you happy. For me, I really did not want the Z07 package, so it was an easy decision. But if you are contemplating this much, perhaps you should get it because I bet you will regret not getting it if you do not.

I have both a HTC non Z07 and a coupe Z07. I personally prefer the coupe because:
1. The Z07 package is noticeably stiffer with better turn in and overall handling. I also prefer the look of the extra aero. Somehow it just feels more special and rare too. Although not mandatory I love the carbon wheels in terms of looks and there’s a definite performance benefit. I do think the CCB are also great looking, save weight and less to zero brake dust.
2. However , if I was getting a HTC I’d go with the non Z07 as it’s more civil and practical. The tires on the Z07 are not good for street use and will need to be swapped out if you’re using the car for more than cars and coffee and and the track. The big wing and aero can be considered a bit obnoxious by some. If you’re a serious driver and are looking for a serious drivers car that’s more hardcore go with the Z07 otherwise the regular Z06 has more than enough performance for 98% of us and you don’t have to swap tires for the road and it’s more usable. In the end for me if I had to choose I’d take the Z07 but only if it was a coupe…

The Z06 will obviously have greater value "down the road" versus a C8 Stingray. Will a Z06 with Z07 option be worth much more 10 years from now when the C9 is center stage? Quite likely that there will be little to no difference at that point regardless of what the current hype would lead some guys to believe.

Looking at both the C6 & C7s, the Z07-equipped cars are more desirable/bring better $.

If I had a choice, it would be tough. I think the high wing spoilers look too cartoonish but, I know that it will be desirable to potential buyers down the road. Luckily, I couldn't get a Z07 and had to go with the much more elegant looking (imo) 5V5 Exposed Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler.

As much as I wanted and would have liked to get Z07 it really came down to how long did I want to wait. After over three years and no end in sight of getting a Z07 allocation for a car at all this year, I went with the lower aero. Honestly it's just as beautiful as any version of the Z06. I don't say that just cause I had to settle for the standard Z either. Where I live it's mostly winter, I had been over three years without a fun car and I didn't want to wait until winter to take delivery and stare at it in my garage and that's IF I could get it to my house!
There are pluses and minus to both aero options. Getting in and out of the back of the car is a breeze with the lower wing even with the higher wicker bills installed. The high wing will definitely make it harder to get in and out of the trunk. The canards are well, the canards. Something else to bang your shin on and hopefully not break. So I guess it's all about how long do you want to wait and what you want to put up with. Either option is awesome. Yes the big wing looks more aggressive for sure but it still looks pretty mean with the low set up too. I'm pretty happy with mine at least and for normal street use, you'll never use that big wings potential. Not legally anyways LOL

Just my two cents, I got the carbon aero, carbon brakes and carbon wheels without Z07. Gives the look without the harsher suspension and stiff tires if you're not going to track drive.

Exactly...Resale values for mass produced cars largely comes down to condition and miles. Z07s are ~30% of current Z06 production and will not be rare...If you're really focused on resale, park the car and save it for the next guy, otherwise just buy and enjoy what YOU want.

agree to disagree . The CCB look great and produce little to zero brake dust . Further, most serious track people don’t want CCB as they’re too expensive for a lot of track use. So you could make the argument that the CCB is actually better for the street .

I like the Z07 on the coupe. It looks a little naked without it. On the convertible I think the wing clashes badly with the nacelles and much prefer the convertible without the Z07. You should go with what looks good to you. Personally, I went with a HTC with CCBs and no Z07.
