Your Z06 is worth more than you paid for it now. Give it a few years and it will be worth less than you paid for it. No big deal. Supply and demand drove up the price and the market will bring it back down. On to the C9.

I may be wrong but the "points" provide , what, $300? This is motivation for whom? If that is a big deal, the person should not buy a $150,000 car.
As for waiting 6 months, better take good care of the car, so enjoyment will be compromised. As for the price, I would pay $10-15,000 over, is that worth it?
Given so many can buy for $50,000 over right now and refuse, what would be the ADM expectation of selling your car?

My issue is only with those sucking up C8Z purely to flip them at a profit. The Corvette has always represented an amazing performance bargain that the blue collar, hard working American could attain. I am just saddened by what has become of a once tightly knit community that cared for on another based on a shared love for an iconic American car.

If it wasn't about me specifically, why did you quote my post? Makes no sense.
Every other Gen of Corvette were performance bargains for sure and could put up the numbers in the right hands but were a bit of a handful at the limit. These are facts. Sorry, the damn thing used leaf springs up through C7 for God's sake. It just wasn't anything the rest of the world was going to take seriously. Sorry if that gets on your nerves.

I like how you were personally offended and then attempted to hurt the person who hurt you by saying nonsense that nobody would agree is true. Hurt people hurt people.
I am the last person to be blinded by "Corvette" but how can you NOT take a C6 Z06 seriously? C7 Z06? C7 ZR1? They used a TRANSVERSE COMPOSITE single leaf spring that was NOT using the the leaf to locate a solid axle or even used as an upper control arm (Cooper F1 cars used to use a transverse stack of steel leaves AS the upper control arm AND the spring)
The Corvette leaf is actually FAR lighter than a steel coil spring and contributes to less unsprung weight. The main issue with a transverse leaf is crosstalk; when once wheel is in jounce, the other wants to go into rebound (however slight). I believe this is one of the main factors that people criticize C5, C6 and C7 at the limit: nervousness. I think if Chevy could have perfected a 1/4 elliptical transverse leaf, they would have kept it.

It's not all the new guys' fault. I'm new to the brand as the C8 is the first Corvette GM has built that is a legitimate competitor to higher-end sports cars. Not hating on the previous generations but that is just a fact. They put the car on another level altogether. There are plenty of longtime Corvette 'loyalists' that are sitting on 3 and 4 Z06 lists (driving ADMs), flipping multiple C8s since launch and generally putting dollars ahead of enthusiasm. As indicated by this thread, get ready for the wave of 'loyalists' flipping these Z06s here shortly. The same cars that they demanded be sold to them for MSRP will be sold on for a tidy profit.

Crosstalk was minimized by having 2 mounting points to the frame. It also acted in unison, however slight, just like stabilizer bars, not in opposition.

Sad to see today's majority of financially F'd Dealerships & the average Joe trying to turn a profit on whatever they can since 2009:-(

I see a gradual decrease of ADM as GM increases production.

The behavior at the limit is exactly what I'm talking about. Corvettes had always been 'numbers' cars that could put up the metrics in the right hands on a track but just were not that rewarding driven by a mere mortal on a public road. Put it this way, a regular person might be comfortable taking a C7 up to maybe 75% of it's capability on a track whereas that same person would happily drive a C8 much closer to the limit. I'm not saying Joe Public is going to drive it 100%, but he would probably do 90% after some familiarization. The platform is just more accessible, balanced and forgiving. There are a whole lot of people that are in C8s now that never would've considered a front-engined 'vette, period. It's not they all just want a bargain 'fake Ferrari' (although there are a few of those no doubt). These are people that have driven all kinds of cars over the years and have a lot of experience, to include said front-engined Corvettes.

I never said I was offended or hurt. I didn't understand him, there is a difference. Me saying that the Corvette was never world-class should not offend anyone, I'm criticizing a car, not the guy's wife for God's sake.

Can’t say I’ve ever heard that. Doesn’t make much sense to me given that they have both always been at the upper end of car pricing and cater to very different aesthetic tastes.

I heard that around the New York & Connecticut area during the 80's & 90's.

Guess it's because I've owned some of each, my bad. If you're ever in the North Scottsdale, AZ. area we'll meet up somewhere to buy you a drink to make up for my error in grammar.

Lamborghini is a car for those seeking to make a "splash". They are not serious sports or racing machines and are automotive styling exercises with a lot of power.
A Ferrari is both more beautiful and functional. They have a racing pedigree, and are very special sports cars.
And as for Corvette...it was the C6 that dominated all. Ever wonder why Lambo isn't even on the poster?

Ferrari sells street cars to finance their racing program. Lamborghini, do they have a racing program?
