2020 SR gone/Z06 moved in
Sold my very early arrival 2020 SR 3LT about a month ago as my new Z06 arrived April 17th.
These were my first two ever Corvettes, after owning a few exotic’s. I couldn’t be more pleased with the Z06 it makes a great companion to my Tesla plaid. The SR was great but the Z is on par with any exotic. 👍

I do want to congratulate you on buying an incredible car that is extremely rare. I do agree with you about the stingray not even being close to the Z06. I’m now going to obviously say something that’s probably going to **** a lot of people off. I own the 2023 Z06 and it’s been an amazing experience but I don’t think the Z06 is supercar/exotic level. The ZR1 would probably be but comparing the Z06 to my 640-4 Lambo evo and Mclaren 720S it’s just not even close. People love comparing the 23 model with old low end power lambos and it’s like give me a break guys. People talk about the track monster that the Z06 is but I personally don’t track so doesn’t really matter to me.
Then there is a subset of people that cry about other super cars being way more expensive but honestly do people that buy super cars really cry about money? Haha
Any ways congrats on your beauty!

now go track a 720s or huracan and see how that works out for ya. a lot of people have the budget to buy a lambo, a lot of people have the budget to track a z06. not many people have the budget to track a lambo.

your post is a little pointless. I mean that kind of says it all, if you don't track, a Lambo looks cooler at starbucks or when you want to impress the valet. That's why they make so many different cars. I personally like to have a lot of cars in the garage because they all are to do different things at different times. The existence of mclarens and lambos don't invalidate the existence of other cars, moreover, they reinforce and compliment the multi car garage.

You’re correct to say that Lambos are not track cars. The point of my post was pretty simple and it definitely was not pointless. I think the Z06 is an amazing car but to call it an exotic is pushing it. It’s like a NFL team losing the superbowl 20 years in a row and then finally getting it one year then claiming they are one of the best in the world. Kind of tired of hearing this “exotic”, “super car” BS. There’s a pretty direct message in the post I typed. Happy to make it more direct for you.

If all you were saying is that you don't think the Vette is an exotic, that's a 20 year old argument. I guess you're new here with your fresh thoughts, but I don't think anyone here cares about whether people say the Z06 is an exotic or say it's not an exotic. I can make it even more simple for you, people here just enjoy Corvettes, so feel free to hang out and enjoy them too and think about where you want to take your dumps, perhaps not in this guy's delivery thread.

Saw my first Z06 on track today at Road Atlanta, we ran together for a bit (I was in the 458 Challenge Evo).
His car is broken in, so he was testing its wings, so to speak.
He posts here so hopefully he will provide his expert opinion.

No big deal fellas I like the fresh ideas. I’ve owned a few Lambos an F cars in my time but when I want to embarrass “ supercars “ I just take the PLAID out for some exercise. 🤘

Could you elaborate on the caliper painting process? I just don't get it.

I prefer daily driver corvettes to exotics that most fear using for putting on too many miles.
that’s what’s great about corvettes you can use them and pile on the miles and who cares!
exotics traditionally are not used for various reasons as daily drivers. The depreciation, the running costs are usually the reasons why.
all that said fun to hear your insights in a polite and respectful manner

You are 100 % spot on. Lambos if you put even 2-3K miles on it the value tanks by at least 40k+ I’ve learned that the hard way. It’s one of the reasons I personally hate driving the car because it’s always constant stress. Will someone rear end me and my car value will drop 100K overnight? Also people in general especially in my area don’t respect lambo owners. They think it’s a bunch of entitled ******** which actually may be true in some cases but not all. That essentially entails into a lot of harassment literally every single time I take it out. I get cut off in the Lambo, been brake checked and have had people even follow me home. Constantly being asked what I do for a living when I take it places which is beyond aggravating. Kids standing on the car taking pictures like they own the car. Guy keying the car or at least attempting but thank God for PPF. People yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs at a stop light “REV IT!”Long story short the car is an absolute headache if driven daily.
The V10 in that car though is just absolutely nuts. Nothing in my opinion comes even close.
The Corvette on the other hand is looked as the American dream and it truly is. A lot of folks think of Corvette owners that worked hard and got a corvette. I use my Z06 as an every day driver and people always give me thumbs up. Very polite at the gas station pump and it’s been a phenomenal experience. It’s so good that I genuinely enjoy taking the Z06 out every day stress free. I do know though if something happens to the Z06 I’m back in the line for another 2+ year wait 🤣
Ultimately my opinion on exotic/supercar and all that nonsense doesn’t matter. The fact of the matter for me is that the enjoyment of the Z06 overall is very pleasant regardless of its comparison to other “super cars.”

I too have had many exotics including a 720s and Huracan Performante to name a couple. Agree the Z06 isn’t an exotic but damn it comes close ! It’s mid engine flat plane crank V8 sounds better than most modern day exotics . The dual clutch transmission is very responsive. The car will out handle most exotics too. However, I’d compare it to maybe a GT3 , R8 or maybe even a Mclaren Artura rather than a Huracan , 720s or F8 for example . In the end it’s a great Car and unbelievable and unbeatable for the money. Chevy ticked most of the boxes with this car imo. For me it’s likely a keeper.
I think I would draw the exotic line maybe between 720 and 765LT and between Huracan and Aventador.
Exotic doesn't make it a great sports car either. That's why there are sports cars that can outperform exotics, for example, a Z06 vs Aventador.
Gosh I hate this topic, lol.

Apparently if you drive it every day and aren't worried about getting into an accident with it, then it's not an exotic. Lmao.
That said, can OP talk about the differences between the SR and Z06 from an experience and ownership perspective?
I have a SR and eventually my number will come up for a Z06. However, idk if it's necessarily worth it to make the order. I wonder if the Z06 is more trouble than its worth as a daily, including rain, driver. Then there is the cost difference and what about the attention? I would never want kids standing on my car. Like, wtf, did that really happen?

Congrats and thanks for sharing. Nice work on the Calipers, I’m curious as to the product and process, can’t you just remove the entire caliper instead of painting around it?
I ask because I just picked up a Titan Capspray 115 to Cerakote some of my firearms and was thinking of doing my calipers as well, but they would need to oven cure.
