C8 Z06 pdr VIR full track video first impressions

I noticed that too on the Zl1 perspective video. The C7 (ZR1) was dancing around a bit at various times and didn't seem nearly as planted as the C8 Z06. The Z06 seemed amazingly stable and easy to drive by comparison.

Burning Brakes
As many of us here are patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for our numbers to be called for our Z06's, I almost hate to say it, but with the platform this good, hard to think the C8 ZR1 is going to be anything other than amazing. Suspect we'll see some records fall if they can keep it at a reasonable weight. So far, so good with the C8s.
I’m sure the ZR1 will be epic...but I gotta think it’ll be heavier than the Z06. Could be pushing 3900lbs+. What records will fall? It won’t be quicker than an SF90 or 765, don’t forget the new GT2RS with Senna level aero and likely 800hp...and we’re still likely 2 years away from a ZR1. A lot can happen in 2 years...GM needs a halo car.

Burning Brakes
It may just be my perspective but, it looks like the car is dancing a bit under initial heavy braking. Do you feel that or notice that as you're braking hard? Was this on the standard alignment or did it have a track alignment?

I have a ZO6 that will be a track car only, which I picked up two weeks ago. So far, it only has 480 miles on it.
I’ll be at Barber’s in two weeks, RA and NOLA in May. I went with -2.5 degrees negative camber rather than the GM recommended-2.0 because I found the recommended camber for the C8 was not enough for R7s based on tire temperatures and wear patterns.
My questions , which I will answer over time but there may be an opinion out there already are: are the stock ZO6 iron brakes and pads good enough . What pads are people running with the stock calipers ? Or I’ll be going to the AP big brakes that came off my C8.
Same on the suspension: stock or MCS two ways that came off the C8.
I did have the new Z06 on Barber’s track two weeks ago just cruising around and a huge improvement I noticed was the smoothness of the transmission shifts as compared to my 2021 C8. GM certainly has improved the software controlling the shifts.

Drifting
Really awesome video. Just wondering, is that MPH number correct? It could just be the video but it almost appears as if that might be KM per hour, judging by the speeds at turns, etc.

LOL... no his video is correct. It's in MPH.

Yep! I think 167 mph back stretch and 159 front straight were the Vmax best that day

C8 Z06 has the GM spec track alignment (-2 F/R). Car may have some dancing under hard braking but it wasn't anything that made me uneasy. I brake very agressively and know how to handle the rear end dance. My Gen 5 Viper and GT350 R moved a lot more - so this wasn't even on my radar.
