This makes me concerned that installing a splitter on a base aero car is going to be a pain in the *** that involves removing the bumper. Seems like you can't get the not-a-splitter off with the bumper on.
Damn and the stock spoiler is held on with 10 bolts.

IMO if the Z07 is what you want I would personally just wait and have it all done from the factory, yeah it sucks to wait but less hassle in the end. Also when you go to re sell the car it's going to be worth more as a factory Z07 as opposed to an aftermarket add on. This option is great for people who have already received cars that wanted Z07 aero and couldn't get it.

Looks like a great way to ruin a perfectly good car...So glad I prefer the base aero.

Being 1200 on MM's list, I am just going to wait it out. Hopefully, by the time my number comes up, GM will have sorted out this problem.
I am excited about the car and all that biz but this is why I've referred to it as a Chevy. I cannot imagine Ferrucio telling buyers you have to go aftermarket for the spoiler/wing/keys/buttons/whatever. Just when you think the act is together, a US automaker shoots itself in the foot.
Ducks in anticipation of tomatoes and rocks coming at my head.

Although I understand that GM has to produce big volumes, how can an aftermarket company offer an aero package that GM can't.

Ah well, decisions decisions. Guess I'll be deciding if the splitter is worth waiting for.. as I really don't want to pull the bumper to install the splitter.

Yeah, full Z07 aero isn't something I'd buy from the aftermarket. But I was hoping just the splitter would be an easy install like on the Stingray.

GM can produce them at the same rate an aftermarket company can (very little). The problem is GM keeps using the ones they have on their own CTF cars rather than customer cars... :O

There are a couple of problems with this company's design imho. One, they had quite a few customers complain about how flimsy their Z07 wing is on the base C8. Two, the method they use to cover the holes that are left when removing the rear spoiler is suspect. It looks like they use a thin piece of material (painted to match) as a cover or trim piece over those holes. It doesn't look great imho. Also, if this trim piece is bolted down, no worries. But if it is simply taped on, then that thing is gone at very high speeds with all the wind and buffeting that occurs at that point. In the photos, if you zoom in you can see where the trim piece is and how it isn't consistently held down across its width (like its taped down).

^^^^ Watch their Youtube video about the installation on their black Z06. It gives a very detailed look at how everything attaches to the car. Not necessarily an endorsement of how they do it, or saying it's a good or bad method, just that the video will answer all your questions.

If you're planning on putting aero pieces on your Z06 from guys who sell it from their mom's garage, please just save the allocation for someone else.

Actually, I’m thinking of removing the rear spoiler and having a body shop fill and refinish. A clean rear with no spoiler will stand apart and I don’t like either.

I am glad that someone is at least stepping up to the plate to produce what GM can not. I will be buying the front splitter and side skirts from them if the CFV is not available when I order from MM. I am one of the ones who actually wants the low profile rear wing, so I have zero concerns about converting from a low wing to a high wing.

I don't want dive planes or the highwing but do want a front splitter. Z06 cars leave the factory without splitters and I don't see dealers/museum taking off the front bumpers to install those. The bumper removal is just to install the dive planes right?

Looks cool but I’d be afraid to cut the bumper slots for the dive planes. With my luck I’d make the hole to big or crooked. Doh!

The front splitter looks like it slides into some tabs on the front bumper cover, I'd assume you would just have to remove some screws from the lower splash shield at best. Bumper cover removal shouldn't be necessary.

Guys, I stumbled onto this thread and had to respond.....
I have their Z07-style wing on my 70th Anniversary Stingray in Carbon Fiber...LOVE IT!
There is a brace that goes on the rear end of the car which bolts onto the wing as well as the rear tub/trunk of the car. It took us 2-1/5 hours to install. You take off the rear wheels and tires and the rear end of the car. Mine is very stable. In addressing the outside holes left from the Z51 spoiler, they supplied me with the end cap pieces to cover them. Yes, they have double sided tape on them-I have no problems with them-they look great. Sigala will paint them for you too. I had mine painted at my dealership because they had the White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat paint!
They did a great job on this wing. I've got to think their true Z06 wing will be just as good if not better.
