LT6 engine failures/problems
Just came across this video on youtube. LT6 seized up at 621 miles. Not a ton of info. Owner basically says he did a proper break in. They were doing a little pull (its in the video, nothing crazy) and the engine started knocking and seized. City Chevy had a new engine in the car in about 2 weeks. GM didn't let the dealer open up the engine, I assume they had to ship it back to GM intact for some analysis.
Owner of the car says he knows of 3 engine failures. The one that died at like 50 miles that we all heard about, one other one, and his. So with about 1000 cars built, 3 engine failures. So about a 0.3% failure rate so far.

I planned to share the video here this morning but looks like I'm too late...lol
Simmie Green was the original engine builder on my car and Andrew Goins was the engine builder of the car in CA (from what I.was told). So no correlation. Guessing a dropped valave or spun rod bearing.

We need more owners to drive their cars to see how far this goes down the rabbit hole..

Unfortunately it is my car. It was awesome until it wasn't 2 Saturdays ago. I am stoked to have the car back and really impressed how fast GM took care of me!

2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
The fact is Chevy has had issues with their high-performance engines going back to at least the LS1, LS6, LS7, LT4 & now potentially LT6. Knowing this history, anyone who believed their first venture into a FPC engine was going to be problem/free is delusional. There's a reason all other manufacturers didn't make one with this displacement or horsepower & moved on to turbos.

Once you start getting the car out on track regularly did they give you any indication what happens if you have to put another one, two or three engines in it? Will GM keep stepping up and putting them in the car under warranty do you believe? Did you ask your Service Writer that direct question? Were you planning any changes such as wheels/tires, safety equipment, brake pad compound or whatever that could possibly give them even the slightest out or will you keep the car 100% stock while it's under warranty?
I watched your video and you mention VIR (Full I assume?) and your expectation of PB's in this car. What did you run before and in what? What are your expectations in this car?

Doesn't look like GM has made much progress since they built the Vega. They also had an oil filter spin off while they were testing their new flat plane engine. Excessive vibration.

Cool that they took care of you as quickly as they did!!

I have tracked a lot of different cars from Vipers, Porshces (992 and 991.1 GT3), GT350R s, Rush SR ZLEs nd I will do the same safety and modifications to the Z06. Already have Forgelines and Hoosiers and will be upgrading the brake pads after the stock ones wear out. Most likely going with 2 piece Girodisc. I do plan to run a roll bar and harnesses as well.
If I have a failure on track and it's not covered - I'll let everyone know and I'll get it fixed on my own dime and keep moving forward. I can't stress enough how impressed I am with how this was handled!
As far as my track times at VIR - you can look up some videos on YouTube. 911SLO has some of my GT3 running 1.59s. (1:59.12 is my best). Have run 2.00.xx in a bone stock ZLE. 2:01.xx in a GTC Viper a couple years ago.
Here is my buddy Jay chasing me in my 991.1 GT3 in his ZLE:
