The three Connell Z06's For Sale Tomorrow January 4...

like some are saying, the issue is the typical timeline:
1) Dealer gets allocation
2) dealer contacts customer next in line
3) customer builds out order
4) order is placed in system and immediately matched to one of the allocations
Not many dealers are willing to:
1) dealer contacts customer(s?) next in line
2) customer build out order
3) order sits in the system until (if) a dealer gets an allocation
4) order is matched with the allocation

I agree with you but it is pretty much out of GM's hands - to a degree. GM controls the allocation process, so they could cut dealers out, but they can't control what a dealer does after they receive their allocation. I recently visited 2 dealers, one of which ordered dealer stock for all three of their allocations and the other ordered one of three. Read my post #8 above. If GM does actually prioritize build dates for retail sold vehicles over dealer stock ones, then that will send a message to the dealers. That is something over which GM has control. The dealer I mentioned above with 3 dealer stock orders does not yet have build dates for any of the three.

These are orders sold to a person. The dealerships owners spouse, brother, sister or some close friend. Dealerships here in SC (80ish per yr) have been doing that on all C8 since they came out. They have a Z06 3LZ,HTC in their show room right now and are asking $99999.99 over MSRP. Purchase by some one like I said above.

My sons both worked at a Nissan dealership when the new Z came out last year. The sales manager went around the dealership and asked employees if they could use their names to place "fake" customer orders. All dealers do it and I find it despicable.

They are at $15K over on a non Z C8.
It will be interesting to see how long they last. May not ever get final price they sell for though. They sold a bunch of C8s last year at ADM.

Well there is the dealer work-around to circumvent my grand "customer sold orders only" solution. It would be interesting if GM cross referenced customer sold orders and dealership employees, I wonder how many matches.

Was there yesterday and they have the Red Mist and Orange one. They had a closed bidding process and apparently the highest offer was 60K one MSRP and was not accepted. They have stopped the bidding process for the moment my guess is they want closer to 100K over MSRP.
