And maybe he doesn't race "for chevy" as in that's not where his paycheck comes from, but he races "a chevy" professionally in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Sure, just about everyone has a YouTube channel. but my comment is around the implication of your thread title that he got his early car BECAUSE he is a YouTuber, which is not true. And I'd only call someone a "YouTuber", if that is their profession or a substantial part of their work/life/income.

Either way, Chevy hooked him up with an early allocation and custom VIN. He posted a video about it. Enjoy.

Most likely he PAID for a custom VIN. We all had the same opportunity to get an early car. They just did what they needed to do. Fire up a successful YouTube channel, become a professional race car driver driving Chevys. Make a boatload of money and buy the number 1 VIN car in a charity auction. We all make life choices. Some whine a lot when things don’t work out they want. Others move on with life and keep making choices. If you can own a Corvette, any Corvette, especially a new one, you are very fortunate. Objectively you have little to complain about, unless you or your family have health issues. If you do, a new Z06 won’t solve that problem.

I'm not complaining. Chevy is free to pick and choose whomever they want to move to the front of the line.

I specifically requested a random VIN and that's exactly what I expect. if there's any pattern or discernable meaning to my vin I will be posting on streetfire.net.

If you watch the video, he admits to getting an early allocation due to his relationship with Chevy Performance (and probably Rick Hendricks) as a NASCAR driver… not because he is a “YouTube clown”.
So a handful of GM “VIPs” got early allocations, why does this upset people so much? In the grand scheme of things this has extremely minimal impact on the rest of us. It’s the supplier and constraint issues that need to be addressed, not a few VIPs getting their cars early.

Have you seen all the you tube guys that already got there cars? Why is that since you have all the information. But if I had a way to the top I would do it also.

Yes I can probably count on one hand how many YouTubers got an early allocation due to GM pulling strings for them for marketing purposes. Point being that a handful of cars being designated for these “VIP’s” isn’t having any real impact beyond certain people getting upset apparently. The focus should be on addressing the production issues, not blaming a handful of VIP’s.
I’m sure GM executives get preferential treatment as well, does that upset you too? It’s how the world works, it’s about who you are and who you know. Here’s a few pics posted on FaceBook by a GM executive of a gorgeous Z07 HTC with his son. No aero constraint issues either of course.
Us “normals” will get our cars in due time.

How many "you tube guys" have one? 8? 10? 12? GM decided it was good marketing for them and it doesn't matter if we agree or not. The point is, the tracking spreadsheet has close to 600 cars at 3400 status or higher, the handful of people GM moved to the front of the line isn't significantly impacting anyone else's ability to get one - outside of the 10 people who were next to get an aero option and with the constraint have to wait a bit.

Though I am not upset per say, I don't like it.
I think in this particular circumstance it is a bit disrespectful to long term loyal customers who have been waiting on C8Z list for years.
What I am about to say does not apply to those folks who are actually part of the GM corporation or officially race for GM/Chevy.
No issue with the "GM corporate VIPs".
To answer your question "why are we bothered?".
In normal times when Z06's are rolled out (C7Z as an example).
The factory was averaging about 75ish Z06's per day. Or roughly 350 to 400 cars weekly.
At these rates GM could award all kinds of VIP's at their choosing without offending anyone or anyone hardly noticing.
If they " moved 75 or even 150 "VIPs", "You tubers" or whoever to the front of the line that was less than 2 days of production.
None of us would care or hardly notice. The impact to us would have been/was minimal.
Now fast forward to the today's circumstances with supply challenges and who knows what else. LOL.
They have produced 412 cars by someones count as of last week.
That's 400 cars in about 4 months.
Or said another way it has taken 4 months to build what would have been about a weeks worth of cars at the old production rates.
Now if GM moves special case folks (VIP's that are not corporate insiders) to the front of the line it is very noticeable.
And the affect it is having on those of us on wait list is significant. In some cases the difference could be months, or even push us into the next model year.
Point is GM should have or could have handled the VIP's and special folks better. They could have taken care of them (pushed them way ahead) but not all at once to the very front. For example, they are averaging about 100 C8Zs per month. Due the unusual circumstances of the times, they should/could allocate a percentage of monthly production to "VIP's. Lets say of every 100 Z's built they allocate 2-5 cars (2-5%) for VIP's and special folks. They get their cars sooner, as VIP's should, but with less disruption to those like myself who have been "in line" and on list for years.
I know VIP's and others will get special treatment. I have no problem with it because that's just the way of things.
However there is "a way" to do these things in business and not offend your other customers.
Or said another way.
We know folks are allowed to cut in line. But under current circumstances there is no excuse for all of them, to skip all the way, to the very front, all at once. There is the rub.
Everyone (even VIP's) should have to adjust expectations to some degree in these unusual times.
JMHO.
