Body-color exterior accents option now showing on Z06 build and price
Did a search and didn't see this posted...
Was sniffing through the Z06 Build and Price looking to see if the red intake was added and noticed a new exterior option for "Body-color exterior accents" showing for $995.
Front and rear grille accents
Side vents
Also includes tonneau vent on Convertible model
The picture of my Z06 build doesn't change when selecting and de-selecting the option though. Update: Tried the HTC and the rear vent now changes between black and body colored.
Let's hope it's just a glitch and that isn't available. The body-colored vents look awful.
It's the Wishbone side intake itself that looks completely awful.
The body colored option will do something to hide that design failure.
All C8's should should have the C8-R side intake design, but without the tacked on black plastic.

Yeah, the Z06's that have been spotted with body color accents pretty much just look terrible. If it was just the side scoop trim, not my thing but it looks ok. But the rear vents and front grille area in body color just look horrible.
I mean if people want it, glad to see its available, but I'll pass on this one

A $295 stand alone option for just the side intakes to be body colored should be an option on all Corvette models, as long as keep ruining the design with that tacked on plastic.
Frankly, it should be standard equipment, along with the rear mirror camera.

100% in on full body color when my turn comes. Don't want to highlight the undesirables. Who am I kidding? Rear end is a mess in any color.

This is true. Back half of C8 could be improved - a lot. Black vents and other black trim pieces highlight the collection of (mostly) unattractive sharp angles and design compromises that resulted in the rear-half of C8. Front half of C8 is well done. GM Design can do better with the back half.
No black-colored vehicle side intakes on Ferrari 458, 488, Tributo, McLaren 720S or (most) Senna’s, etc. A few images of these same cars with black-colored intakes at the front and rear, but exception vs. the rule.

Because the intakes on those cars are much better integrated into the body than the C8's which looked tacked on.
