Rob, the people I speak to still think both variants are coming soon. But when I speak to the people on the Corvette Team, they never comment on future projects.

That article yesterday noted that the ZR1 with the Twin Turbos will weigh 200 pounds more than a Z06... and even more with the Zora model at over 4000 pounds...

So we're going to have eRay, a refreshed Stingray w/ LT3, a ZR1, a Zora, a Corvette branded electric performance UV, and a Corvette branded BEV sedan all coming out "this year" or all being talked about? Seems that's a Marketing failure.

According to the governments new emissions regs, GM has until 2027 to get their ROI before the industry goes all electric.

how can gm justify introducing another new v8 engine after the z06. how can they possibly get return on investment when v8 will be legislated out existence soon?
sensible thing to do is make the zr1 a z06 engine with eray electrics. then maybe do a zora with z06 engine and 3 new updated electric motors 2 in front and 1 in back with plug in capability. future for gm is electric so that is where the updates will probably go

A new GM Authority report covers the upcoming C9-generation Chevrolet Corvette, which will supposedly debut as a 2029 model. That means the current C8 is sticking around for awhile, but even the next generation will still pack an internal combustion engine. The last C7 Corvette lasted for 5 years (2014-2019), while the C6 lasted 8 years (2005-2013).Even as the automaker moves toward electrification — even for some models under a “Corvette” sub-brand — the original Corvette will still assumedly use a V8 engine for at least the rest of the decade. The next-generation C9 Corvette will reportedly use a modified version of the current C8’s Y2 platform. The Chevrolet Corvette isn’t going completely electric for a good while yet.

I believe this implied LT3 DOHC engine will likely be a cross plane crank shaft on a LT6 engine block, which, as we know, is flat plane in the Z06! It makes sense that this will start in a Grand Sport! It will utilize the Duntov name because there actually was a car back in 1963 called the Corvette Grand Sport by Duntov Motor Company. Below is an image of one of those very cars! This is the same engine that Cadillac is using in its IMSA and W.E.C. cars. It's heralded as the only normally aspirated 5.5 ltr. engine in the Hypercar Class. That implied LT3 DOHC engine (without turbos for the Grand Sport) will be the base engine for the LT7 (in the ZR1 & ZORA) with dual stage twin turbos (additional hybrid for the ZORA). Hence the variation in the engine names. I also believe that this engine will likely be a torque monster and require MR engine mounts. BWI, who make the MR shocks already, will make them to stabilize the driveline, which is projected to sport 800 ft. lbs. of torque and horsepower of 850 HP.
Stylincoyote, in post #10, dropped the Duntov name for the engine. Clearly showing that GM attaches great value to, not only Zora's first name, but his last name. Now people, keep in mind, that the below car is the single most valuable Corvette(s) ever sold. Proof of the value. There are only 5 of these out there. Stories are written about them. The Corvette team just won the 6 HRS of Portimao WEC race and the Cadillac with the Purported LT3 engine placed 4th in the Hypercar class. The Cadillac LT3 engine revs to 8800 RPM and sounded great on the in-car camera with sound.

cpc dohc > fpc dohc in terms of torque. This has been proven in the LT5 C4.
