Do you honestly like the sound?

I like it. I'm used to the twin turbo sound but that's just generic. I also have a SR on order for the CPC burble and will mostly likely drive it a lot more than the Z when I get it.

Sounds great IMO. So does the 458. So do a lot of cars.

I believe Motor Trend described the sound as a "baritone 458."

I recently had the good fortune of hearing it in person at full song on track at a marketing function. Let me tell you, It will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, It sounds glorious!

To me it sounds like a deeper version of the high revving two-stroke racing motorcycles back in the day. Sounds different than any other V8 and sounds great to me especially with the pops and burbles when shifting.

I love it... as others have said, it sounds unlike any Corvette before.... I also love the sound of a big block '67 with side pipes... both awesome, but very different.

If they made an 8600 rpm CPC V8, I would go for that. The engineers did an excellent job with the FPC sound, though, so I'll be happy.

I feel the F355 is one of the best sounding cars of all time. The Z06 isn't even close.
The Z06 is similar to a 458 which is mid pack IMO. I like the sound of a 992 GT3 Porsche better than the Z06.
I still like the sound of the R8 V10 better than most these days as well.

For me, I'm old school. I like the low aggressive tone. Want to hear the lope of the cam, the crackling sound of the exhaust? The 1960 street racers.
The C8 exhaust follows the European sound. High pitch.High revs.
Hate to say but Ford has the sound.
Ok, now the bashing......

I have never quite understood the sound hoopla.
Almost a deal breaker for me until I found out I can change it and almost shut it down completely in stealth mode.
Nice to have a corvette with a lot of buttons..

I don’t own a Corvette but I love the throaty sound of the C7s (and older) on the track. And I think the C8Z will sound fabulous as well.

Do you like it over a well tuned cross-plane V8, or do you just like it because it's "Ferrari"? I find myself watching videos repeatedly telling myself to like it, but I can't stop hearing a 4-cylinder S2000. The car doesn't have quite the same sound of a Ferrari F-355 or 458; possibly due to being 5.5 liters?
While not a deal-killer, I honestly prefer a high strung CPC. I understand how the FPC facilitated the massive NA power etc., but it doesn't make the the hair on my neck stanad-up. Granted I have yet to hear one in person as they refused to start it at both reveals I went to.

Z06 runs shivers down my spine in a good way... One of the best sounds ever second only to Two Stroke... I also enjoy a good old traditional American V8...

Not really. I will miss the good old American rumble.

I love it, but it will take some time to get used to it being a Corvette sound. The traditional small block "rumble" is what my brain associates with Corvettes.
I've taken the kids to a lot of IMSA races and the one thing about the C5-C7 race cars was you always knew which one was the Corvette by sound. You could hear it coming, and know it was one of the Corvettes before you ever saw it -- think by 5 my youngest knew that sound and when it was coming even with the ear protection on. But the C8.R is totally different (and won't be exactly like the street car but similar). I like it a lot. It just doesn't say "Corvette" to me, and that along with needing to put the RPMs in the car will be a big adjustment, mentally. I'm pretty convinced it will be fantastic, but won't really know until I've put some miles on it (once it finally comes).

I’ll add the C8R sounds like absolute trash. Seen it in person at VIR twice now. The distinctive sound is gone and the new sound isn’t a good one at all. Thankfully the street car seems to sound better.
