My 09Z was built in July 2008.
It is theorized that Chevy started the 2023 MY cars in May 2022 as they were expecting to introduce the C8Z then. Obviously that did not happen. I see no reason for Chevy to start the 2024 MY production before July 2023 at the earliest.

And this is why my last three gm performance vehicles (C6, V2 and C7Z) were purchased used, I have zero confidence in gm, all components of their Corp, and the stealership network is much, much worse than the corp.
Just ship the parts to me, I can figure out the rest, of course I need reimbursement on the warranty I can never use.

OP, if you're still at 1100 your order was NOT matched to an allocation, no matter what the dealer told you. As soon as you're matched to an allocation you go to status 2000. So first thing, if your dealer really told you that, he lied to you. More likely, I think you misunderstood what it meant when he entered your order in GM Workbench. You should ask him where you are on his waiting list, and how many allocations they expect to get. That will give you an idea of how long you have to wait.
As others have said already, GM announced it's not taking any more allocations until 2023. That has nothing to do with model year 2024. But YOU might have to wait until MY 2024, depending on where you are in the dealer's queue.
There's zero evidence that GM is giving out the 495 allocations to YouTubers, in spite of all the wailing online. There aren't 500 YouTubers GM would care about, and I know of multiple people who got allocations in August, none of whom are Youtubers. Conspiracy nuts, to home unless you have some actual data.
No, it's not. January 2023 is not likely the 2024 model year, and those allocations issued in August will start production this month.

Nope it is real.......
Sad a corporation of GM size, over excited its faithful and under delivered.....well actually nothing at all came out so far.
"Those already accepted will start being manufactured in mid September."...so all cars made this year are actually the largest test group ever!

The housing market has cooled, so did the used car market. New car prices are next. GM is trying to eliminate (reduce) ADMs by delaying production.

Production isn't being delayed, it was slowed down for Z06 though. 3% of production will be Z06 over the next 4 months. Allocations were delayed, I agree with. Solving adms they could have given all the limited 495 allocations to the top 3 dealers only and that would have solved that. But yes, housing and used cars have cooled down for sure.

4 months won’t make a difference with this particular car. Even 2 years won’t. It is THAT difficult to get, so will be a hot commodity for awhile.
