Z06 vs Z07

Z06 vs Z07
Not a bad problem to have, but I'm low on the Ciocca list (#57) and am going back and forth on going Z06 vs. Z07. I was originally all in on the Z06 (3LZ, solid list of option, 135k build.)
Given the extremely limited Z07 allocations (~900ish), my thought is the Z07 might just be too hard to pass up if I can get the allocation within a reasonable time-frame.
This will be a weekend driver, show car....probably only put 2-3k miles on per year. I may track it, but I doubt it will be more than 1 or 2 times just for the experience.
Anyone else struggling with this decision?

I am, but my number is way higher than yours. I've started to come around to the looks of the Z06 and saving $20+k is appealing.

The idea of spending an extra 20k is not appealing to me at all. I am number 41 and when Ciocca calls me I will ask how long Z07 is backlogged and make my decision rom there. This will be my truly grail supercar. I am very excited.

First question - Do you track the car?
If not, why Z07? You get tires that do not last and a suspension that is stiffer than the already very good standard.
Since you can get ceramic brakes and the rear spoiler, you have the best brakes and for ego or aesthetic purposes, the rear spoiler.
Although it only costs about $500 more for the Z07 package, what is the point of wearing tires out in 5,000 miles costing you $3000?

3LZ with Z07 and options is $150K+, maybe $170K depending on the options. Z07 + required aero is $18K alone.

If you like the aero buy the z07 or aero package . I don’t like the look of the aero so no aero for me.

You can get all of the options without Z07 except:
high wing/dive planes (on constraint with or without Z07)
underbody air strakes
wear me out tires
8% stiffer springs
those are incrementally what you get with Z07

Hi Gary, I'm right behind you at #58 and have been going back and forth myself, I really like the exposed carbon fiber high wing and the CCBrakes. I was leaning toward the Z07, but I may save the $20k and go without when i get the call.

Burning Brakes
Since you're before me in line, I'd say don't get it

I really don't need the Z07 at all... but if it laps the ring in under 7 minutes maybe I'd want it to show respect.
So ya, probably won't be getting Z07. A light-as-possible Z07 1LZ came out to like 150K. A more livable 2LZ comes out to like 130K.

Correct, but an expensive affectation if not trying to reduce un sprung weight for the track. I also have trouble understanding why anyone would spend the money onf Carbon Fiber wheels and paint them black.

I was thinking Z07 like most people when the car was first shown but now leaning towards Z06 even if there were no constraints. I don't want the tires. I like the wing but honestly my skills at the track will never be good enough to use the Z07 to even 80% of its capability. But I do like the wing. I'll end up with an aftermarket splitter when Ciocca gives me a call.
