Default Local dealer planning to auction off Z06s

Spoke to my dealership where I got my C8. Apparently their plan for their initial Z06s is to turn them into dealership builds, and then auction them off at a later time. Hard to believe they’re allowed to do that, but I guess that’s one way of trying to take advantage of the demand / supply imbalance…Anyone else seen that?

Here we go again. I see that you're in California. No surprise the depths the dealers are willing sink to out here.
I checked with several of the dealers in Calfornia. F H Dailey near San Francisco tells me the "bidding" is up to 75k over now.

A dealer here in NJ has the same plan. The cars will all go to the highest bidder.

They all got together and have the same plan. I can't believe GM is not stepping in and putting an end to this madness. Healey Chevrolet, New Hampton,NY doing the same thing. Auctioning off there first allocation to everyone on their z06 list. 10000 over MSRP minimum bid. I declined to participate.

I E-mailed GM on this kind of crap. They actually called me. I have yet to return their call.

This can't be! Several members have assured us all the the majority of smaller dealers are good guys that will be selling for MSRP.

I'm sure they will claim it's all for "charity", but legally they are only required to donate a small percentage of what goes into the charity. These guys are as greasy as you would get.

There is always a Butt for every Seat. Supply vs Demand as it always has been.

GM's contract with dealers does not give them any rights whatsoever. The ONLY thing they can do is cut allocations. However, after calling two different regional representatives, i.e. CA and NV, I can assure you GM will do nothing.
