Default 5000 rewards points?

If you keep your Corvette for 12 months...This is one more way GM is trying to keep flippers out. Interesting. But only good for GM payments, accessories, etc. Not good for people who pay cash though.
Edited: Sorry, 500,000 points, $5,000 value

"Go ahead, reward yourself.

For a limited time, My Chevrolet Rewards1 members can earn an additional 500,000 points — a $5,000 value — when they retain ownership of their vehicle for 12 months after purchase. Points can be redeemed on GM Financial Payments2 , Accessories3 and more!"

I guess you could pay all cash except for $5K and borrow that from GM?

If GM Financial interest rates are competitive, it’s a good deal.

"2 To be eligible, members must have a GM Financial My Account and a minimum of 500 points ($5) available. Customer is still responsible for ensuring all required payments are made on time."

Not sure what that is but maybe someone can explain this. I am paying cash for the car but want to get the $5K back. How to?

Even if you buy cash or non-GM financial you can still use the points on GM accessories, service, I think warranties, other vehicle purchases, etc.

You have a good selection of wheels, spoilers, and carbon fiber with $5k. At a minimum you can put it towards oil changes, DCT fluid changes, and I think tires too

I thought points could only be applied at time of purchase, not 12+ months into a loan? Are you saying we can if we finance through GM?

I have points on my GM card but I have the older card that is usually capped at a certain amount when it’s time to purchase (I’m guessing the maximum allowance will be $1500-2500). If I can apply that allowance, and then apply $5k in points after owning the car for 12 months, that would be great.

Edit: Got the email too. “For a limited time” guessing by the time my number is called for a 2024 model year (or 2025), this promotion will no longer apply.

What kind of accessories can you buy for the C8 with these rewards? I might signup for the card just to get the rewards, if I get a C8Z.

Do you have to put part of the car purchase on the actual credit card to get this reward?

What's also interesting is even though it came in the Z06 pricing email blast, it DOES NOT specify this on the Z06 or 2023 alone.

Interesting marketing tactic. Announce $105k starting price(minus destination) expecting there be criticism then give $5k back in reward points. This curb the desire to flip and helps you rationalize that the car is actually $100K even though it's not. Great news for the majority of us who plan to keep the car for more than a year. I'll put that 5k towards an extended warranty and servicing the car if possible.

I've the GM rewards for years In 2017 I built a house and put all I could on the card. I got 7500$ off my wife Equinox. I then built it up again and got 3500$ off my 2020 SR. I built another house last year and have over 6500$ to get off of my Z06!
Now before someone goes on here and says "they cap it"! It depends on which card you have mine has No expiration or No cap on the amount you can redeem off GM vehicles!

You get different points some can go towards the purchase of a vehicle. Others to service etc.

I'll be enrolling for the new 500K points.

Do they force you to use their financing?... if so they keep the title so that you can't possibly sell it. And since its only $5K, this really isn't a deterrent for flippers... in fact this might actually benefit the flippers. How?

This will keep more cars off the market as some who might consider selling their car will wait the 1 year before doing so. With less used Z06's on the market, it will create MORE demand and MORE profit for the flippers.

Should have just left the MSRP where it should have been at $87K without all these games.

It’s in the email it says you have to be a my Chevrolet rewards member. I got rewards from my c8 purchase and I used outside financing

The email says you can use it towards finance payments if you finance with GM. But aside from towards finance payments you can use them on anything else if not using GM finance

I think i was reading it differently….for my GMC Yukon and Sierra when I spend money at the dealership i get points. When i bought the vehicles i got points that easily covered my first oil change….i read that this was that kind of points…maybe i am wrong. When i bought my vehicles the salesman signed me up.

I could be wrong, but it looks like to me you don't have to have a rewards card, but have to be a rewards member.

My sales person also signed me up when I bought my SR. I think I got like 2000 points and used it when I bought my car cover. I did not get a card.
